One of the things Leif would see while dangling upside down is a pair of humanoid shadows extending upwards from the shadow cast by one of the surviving trees. They're dancing a waltz, slowly, directed with obvious skill.
Then they start shaking and fading away, as if breaking apart, before suddenly returning to normal. They keep dancing as if nothing happened, after a pause.
They kept dancing, as if completely unaware of their audience, their moves flowing like a river, more graceful and effortless than any human dancer could manage.
She might, if she focusses, pick up a tune being hummed nearby.
Occasionally, the shadows waver, flickering a little, but even with the humming occasionally breaking up or being interrupted by what might or might not be a sniffle, they keep on. At one point, they inadvertently get close enough to Leif she could touch one if she wanted, though they aren't risking knocking into her.
Finally, the song ends, and the waltz does eventually, too, the shadowy man and woman pausing before they embrace and stay still. They don't fade away, perhaps deciding whether to do another dance or not.
"Well that's new." Savaak comes up from behind Leif, intending to say hello to the girl until the shadow display happened. She watches it for a few moments as the figures remain still, then looks down at the other girl.
No hallucination, as shown by the fact eventually the shadows dance a little again!
...Only a little. The shadows get a few steps into a tango before they can hear a sigh, the female shadow leans in to kiss the male shadow gently on the lips, and both vanish not as if leaving, but as if violently erased.
The shadows under that tree lighten, and Aaron can be seen, but he hasn't noticed them. His cheeks are wet, his eyes dull, and his knees pulled up firmly to his chest. He's staring at his watch.
"Maybe, but I think the music would be a bit much for me to try for at this point." Savaak chuckles and grins at the other girl. "Unless you're telling me I'm one, too." She sighs at the start of more dancing, tilting her head to the side when the shadows meet a violent end and reveal a tearstained Pale Shadow.
-Well now.

If she startled at the disappearance of the shadows, he definitely startles at the squeak and laughter, jumping and looking up, but not standing!
...Oh. These two. He knows them, and the sight of them has him rubbing his eyes and trying to bring some kind of life back into them. As if nothing happened.
Jury's out on if it works.
"Oh. Sorry, I, um, I didn't know people were watching. You okay?"
Savaak snorts and raises a brow at the other girl. "How much are you even on right now?" She shakes her head with a playful tsk and looks up again as Aaron speaks and tries to compose himself. She's not fooled, but doesn't comment.
"I think you hypnotized Leif. That might be part of it."
Out, huh? He's mulling that over and about to say something when Leif crawls over to him, close enough he's vaguely uncomfortable, and gives those instructions.
"I, um. Okay. Promise it'll help?"
He almost feels like he's going to burst into tears all over again, but slowly, he closes his eyes and opens his mouth like Leif said to do.
She removes a tiny little baggie with two bright red pills. She glanced back at Savaak, then put the pills in her hand... and then popping them in Aaron's mouth.
"Swallow. In ten minutes, you'll be happy. Trust me."
Then, she stood up and stumbled a few steps, giggling again.
"I don't keep anything in my pockets. That would be silly! Psh... Silly Savvy."
