He looks at Leif, frowning, but he's been frowning this entire time so that doesn't say much!
"I sure do. You have no idea."
Does he? Looks like she'd had the same stuff.
...Worth it. Just to see if he can feel happy now. Feel anything.
Not that he deserves it. He's just a worthless violent thug who thinks he's something more. Who will never, ever, be worth loving. They were both right about him, and soon Leif and Savaak'll probably see and then they'll hate him too.

Trust her. Well, he'd trusted her on the roof, hadn't he? Before, before...
That almost makes him start sobbing all over again, remembering. Still looking at Leif, trying to meet her eyes, he suddenly curls up tighter as he tries, without any luck whatsoever, to 'clear his mind'.
Then the tingling starts, and both women can see him blink.
"I think you broke him," Savaak murmurs to Leif before Aaron blinks. His expression had shifted to something unpleasant, and she didn't want to have to deal with a stranger breaking down just now. There'd probably more of that later.
"...Are either of you going to be able to walk to your pods later?"
"I will?" Leif sounded almost insulted, but that was ruined by a low chuckle. "But Mister first timer there might need some help. If he can get passed the dragon."
There. A hint.
The tingling would start a very obvious path up his legs and arms, towards his head and chest. It was extremely easy to get lost in that sensation.
Dragons don't make him happy. The tingling was better than the pain in his heart, though, so he tries to tap into it or whatever. He doesn't know how any of this works.
Savaak watches Aaron for a moment with a tilt of her head, then glances down at Leif. He doesn't seem to be changing much yet, but it's only just been a few minutes. She's not a guru on recreation drugs, and lately her focus has been more on the poison puzzle Venus gave her before disappearing.
"How much did you give him?" This is partially for her own notes as well as the fact that if something foolish happens, she's probably going to hear about it.
Leif shrugs as if that's not an impressive amount.
Aaron would mainly be getting physical sensations, as if the world was moving a little too fast and his entire body had fallen asleep. Noises might be a little distorted.
That's not happiness at all! He tries to move around but feels numb, stuck where he is. With the distortion, he can't really make out what Leif and Savaak are saying. He looks at them, as if trying to comprehend, but also as if he's still miserable.
Just a more confused miserable. He hadn't been able to clear his mind at all, despite Leif's instructions.

It'll become very difficult for him to be miserable. Confused, sure, but miserable will fade and the tingling will intensify. If he turns his head too quick, he'll notice things beginning to blur.
Leif laughed rather loudly and leaned heavily on Savaak.
"He said happy. I'll bet you he'll end up pretty happy."
Misery and heartache have their claws in him pretty deep, but it does slowly start to fade into background noise as he does indeed turn his head too quickly and find the world going all blurry.
As he rubs his eyes and tries to process the tingling and new sensory input, they might hear him mumble, "Wha?"
Slowly, reluctantly, like a child wading into the deep end of the pool for the first time, he unfolds and tries to stand up, unless his body is too tingly to allow that.
He would stand up fairly quickly without realizing it and the world would seem, for a moment, to shift around him.
Colors would be extremely bright and Leif and Savaak would seem incredibly thin. They're already skinny, but it would be ridiculous and unhealthy how almost stick-figure-ish they'd look.
Leif smiled a too wide smile and waved, but her hand would just be a blur.
Aaron waves at Leif, but blinks, shakes his head, tries to clear it. Tries to force down the worry at how unhealthy they suddenly look, but without much luck!
"Hey, you guys okay?"
There's someone else who used to always be so skinny, who would make him worry about how unhealthy she always looked. The memory is vague right now though, underneath his brain trying to process the sudden changes in the world.
Worries would fade pretty quickly. Happiness would definitely start up. It would be difficult to be upset about anything, even if he thought about something sad.
Maybe? Yes? No? He shouldn't be. He shouldn't ever be again.
But everything he thinks about suddenly has a bright side. Jack's letting him go fight, go protect people. He can prove himself, he can make things better, he can become better.
Sarah had become such an amazing person, so much stronger, someone who could do so much good. Maybe she's better off without him. Maybe he's played his part. Wasn't being part of her journey, and knowing she could be safe and happy, worth it? Isn't that what loving someone is? Isn't building her up what he spent so much of himself on, not so much making sure she'd stay with him? He wants her, there's a part of him that wants her more than he even wants to be a hero, but... well, if it's meant to be, if there's ever anything in there, can't it wait until after the war? He can work on himself, build himself back up to whatever man he was that she fell in love with.
Eric. Did he really mean what he said to Eric? He's been so jealous, he's wanted what Eric has. The power, the respect, the ability to fix everything for everyone whenever he wants to.
Becca. Data unavailable. Barely knows who she is even though he wants to. She's hard to talk to. Maybe there's someone who doesn't hate him, someone who can tell him how so he can get to know her. Make things up.
Miranda. Miranda was so nice. She wouldn't want him miserable over what happened, blaming himself, would she? What would it accomplish? If he went back in time and blew up instead of her, what then? What would his death really help?
Those kids. Think about those kids who all went to their mommies and daddies safe and sound. That. That's why he does this job. To help everyone, to make everyone happy. He'd gotten so wrapped up in Sarah that he'd started to forget himself, forget why he's here. Defend the defenceless, help the helpless, stand between the evil and the good.
War. War's scary. He doesn't want to kill people. He doesn't want to die, even though he told Jack he does. But isn't there such a thing as a good war? He will fight to stop the Empire, make sure they don't hurt anybody else. He'll protect people.
Angel. Angel's confusing. Are things worked out? Are they not? He'd said truce. Whatever. Later. Later he could think about it.
"...I think so?"
Leif. Leif's... she's helped him twice when she's found him at rock bottom, now. And she's pretty. And interesting.
...No, no, don't think like that. It's not right. Is it?
Whatever she did to him, it feels like his heart's finally beating again, though.
