Sarah left the Director's office, absolutely fuming. She felt sick to her stomach with absolute rage. The blonde buried her hand in her hair and made a noise of disgust as soon as she was free from the school.
She immediately went to her tree, assuming Angel was going to follow her. She threw her hands up to the lowest branch, beginning to shimmy herself up into the branches.
Angel would follow Sarah up the tree. Climbing up to his spot waiting for her to get situated in her spot. Once she was comfortable, or as close to that as she was going to get, he would speak.
"My point is that sometimes we trust the wrong people for the wrong reasons. It's a fact of life and it happens to everyone. No need beating yourself up over it. Especially not because of someone like him."
Angel leaned back onto the tree.
"At least be thankful you didn't continue to stick up for and defend him. You would have had a much harder life."
"Right? Wrong? Who knows what those are anymore? Here we are told to protect those that would slit our throats first chance they got without a second thought, and told to hunt down and kill a man that raised you and made you strong so you wouldn't die. I'm not saying what he did was right by any means but correct me if I'm wrong, you weren't the one that wanted him dead, were you?"
Angel shook his head.
"There is no such thing as right or wrong, we are only told that. But when was the last time you made a decision based on only you that wasn't influenced by someone else?"
"I'm not saying I'm going to purposefully watch him die. But I am saying I'm not going to risk my life for someone that will put everyone else's in danger just so he can be 'Mr. Hero.'"
Angel hit the tree this time as he looked her in the eyes a tear falling down his face.
"How many times have you almost died? How many times did I leave you with only him, that worthless nobody with a hero complex that is only overshadowed by his own stupidity?!"
He looked away and wiped his face, he was wearing the sleeves she had gotten him for Christmas.
"Been trying hard to stay out of trouble since I got back from Australia. Well, other than the fact that I cheated on Aaron right when I got back... with one of my best friends. Who is now dating my other best friend."
Did she really want to try to explain that? She rubbed her face.
