She blinked, thinking about that, and then started laughing. Leif moved to wrap an arm around his shoulders and lean into his side a bit, placing her forehead on his shoulder.
When she leaned up to kiss him his whole body froze as a shiver ran through his body. No one had ever kissed him first. He'd kissed Becca the one time, but that was about it. This felt different. No build up, no pressure. It just happened, he wasn't sure how to react to it and his brows would furrow in concentration as he tried to think of the right response. Oblivious that freezing up might not be the best response.
She watched the way his brows furrowed and snickered, turning her face into his shoulder for a second. She didn't want him to think she was laughing AT him, even if she... well... kind of was.
There wasn't as much of a reaction as she may have expected, but there was a definite tint of red on his cheeks to accompany the thoughtful expression on his face. It would appear he was trying to figure out what just happened rather than harboring any disapproval. Which was true, it was nice. Just, not what he thought was going to happen.
"Wasn't... random. I kissed you because I like you. Figured it would feel nice. And we're going off to war, so I'd like to do it instead of regretting not doing it, you know?"
"There's always another chance for it if you enjoy it. You just have to MAKE that chance happen... Take advantage of opportunities. Enjoy yourself. At least for a little while, Mike... Who knows what is going to happen in Syria?"
"Enjoy yourself MORE," she teased, then chuckled and fell back onto the grass, turning her attention back to the sky. She had a goofy grin on her face.
