((OOC: C'MERE, JACK OF DIAMONDS, YOU HANDSOME STUD, YOU.))

Occupying a small house in the suburbs was Dagny Uy Phong, a faux fortuneteller with a fortune of sorts on her shoulders, Uno Wen and Klaus Teng, two older men who've been charged to watch over her, and Riesling, a large, white German Shepherd who's too old to participate in dog fights but old enough to still lay down the hurt when provoked. If it weren't for the fact that a young woman was surrounded by older males unrelated to her by blood (Riesling is definitely older than her in dog years), they could've passed off as a normal family. Thank goodness most people can't tell Asian ethnicities apart... But to the Vietnamese, Chinese, and Japanese members of the household, it was a bit awkward. They often had little to talk about since Dagny's bodyguards were tight lipped about a lot of matters she wanted to know about. The only real things they could talk about was “How was your day?”, “What did you do?”, and matters concerning Riesling.

“Was Riesling really good in the ring?”

[Wen]: “He tore up the competition. Not bad for a German Shepherd, considering the Pit Bulls he often went up against. His coat is a bitch to clean though.”

“Did you guys clean him? I thought you guys just left those dogs to fight to the death or something.”

[Teng]: “We're bodyguards, not breeders. We heard complaints coming from the others disinfecting his wounds.”

“Riesling ate a rabbit today...”

[Wen]: “I'm not surprised. He chased the neighbor's cat into the hills a few days ago while we were out. The cat didn't come back yet.”

Dagny lived with Riesling for years and wasn't surprised that her dog did that either. Her canine companion always found ways to entertain himself while she was gone and he was more than happy to provide company whenever she came home. However, he's a big dog with lots of energy to spend (for random acts of violence and intimidation). She felt bad that she left her dog alone a lot while she was poor and even now when she has plenty of money to not bother working. It was because of this that she considered getting him a friend; A friend who'd be able to keep up with him. Riesling trodded along confidently with his chain leash around his neck as Dagny walked her dog to a local pet store. She was told that it had a sizable selection of critters to choose from, so she wanted to check it out and hopefully find a friend for Riesling (that he won't eat or tear apart). She simply adjusted her aviator sunglasses when she went inside instead of removing them and wondered where she should look first... As for Riesling? He sniffed about, wary of the different scents in the air.

[red]...I don't know what I'm smelling, but I want to kill it.[/red]

Life was good when you were rich, everyday was an adventure for the young man. Though not in the same way that most people said that meant it. Where a normal person might go out and try a new restaurant, Jack would work on obtaining a new corner for his gang to sell drugs on. He was new to this area, after the fall out in New York he moved on to greener pastures in search of new prey.

He was walking down the street, looking fabulous in his purple silk button down shirt, black silk tie, and custom Italian slacks. Shoes shined to a polish and the silver medallion and multitude of rings he wore reflected the sun. His eyes hidden behind Armani sunglasses, he didn't worry about getting mugged. Not because he was a good fighter, but because if the worst happen he could buy new, that and he carried a knife with him at all times, his favorite skinning knife. He even scalped a kid with it once, though that was hidden under his black designer coat. No need to flaunt that he was armed.

He was making his way to a possible location to scout out when a flash of white caught his eye, a dog with a young women and some other men entering a pet store. Normally he would pay little heed to anyone, after all people were unimportant if they served no purpose. But there was something about that dog that struck him with a sense of Deja Vu, and almost as if on cue his hand started to ache in remembered pain of the dog bite he suffered by a White German Shepard just like that, a dog named Rielsing. Who was also owned by a young Asian woman, was it the same dog? Unlikely, yet he felt compelled to enter the store and see for himself.

Upon entering the store, Jack's nose wrinkled in displeasure from the scent of all the animals, it was a strong musky odor, though it did make his mouth salivate as his brain associated being around small animals with the pleasure of killing them, sadly he would have to restrain for now. Maybe later he could come back and buy something to kill.

Turning his face from one of disgust to a charming smile when he saw the dog again he would approach the mutt and outstretch his hand slowly. "What a good looking dog, can I pet him?"

He asked with a good natured tone, one that he was used to using despite the fact that he felt no good natured feelings at all. His hand still outstretched waiting permission, not knowing if the dog was a biter, suspecting it was because of his gut feeling however.

"What's his name?"

He asked giving the girl he assumed was the owner a warm smile. She was cute, cuter then he had thought the first time around. Maybe worth a fling or something, he would see how things played out. If the mood struck him he might even decide to seduce her, or attempt to.

As Dagny's bodyguards went off to check out the establishment, the German Shepherd's ears suddenly perked up with alert as Jack approached. Now over the years, he quieted down under Dagny's ownership and was less likely to bite anyone that was within a few yards of the Vietnamese woman, but this guy? He was familiar in a really, really unpleasant way and Riesling was more than willing to break his “vow of self-restraint” if it meant showing the rich and imposing figure who's boss. With an about-face he turned towards Jack and bam—His identity was unmistakable.

[RED]THAT GUY. YOU'RE THAT GUY WHO HIT ON ONE OF MY PAST OWNERS. AND GOT AWAY WITH IT! OH YOU'RE GOING DOWN NOW.[/red]

Riesling instinctively snapped at the hand reaching towards him. Jack's hand would probably be a bloody mess right about now if it weren't for Dagny impulsively gripping the chain and tugging it taut, keeping Riesling from tearing the possible threat apart as the dog continued to bark and gnash his teeth angrily at Jack. She had a feeling that Riesling would be on edge in a place like this, but she didn't think her canine companion would react so aggressively and out-of-the-blue at a complete stranger.

[red]SHIT FUCK FUCK SHIT SHIT FUCK FUCK BITCH FUCK--[/red]

The sound of Riesling's barks were comparable to every one-syllable obscenity you can think of, even to an average human. Dagny trusted her dog like he was an extension of her own life, so she was torn when it came to reacting to this situation... A threat? Here? In broad daylight in a pet store? Did he know her or something? No way—She's supposed to be a completely new person here in San Diego. How could he possibly recognize her? Maybe he recognized the bodyguards who entered with her? He couldn't possibly be a member some mafia or something, right? Of all things he asked, he just asked for her dog's name and to pet him. Dagny sighed and tried to keep her cool with a discomforted smile in response to Jack's seemingly friendly one.

Okay, you clearly suck at keeping your cover because you panic so much, so let's see if you can do it right this time, eh...? Alrighty, just be casual...

“Riesling. His name is Riesling. He... Isn't usually like this. He's probably antsy because he's surrounded by so many different animals all at once. You probably startled him is all, and I apologize for that.”

It was tricky for Dagny to say all this while keeping Riesling from ripping Jack to shreds. When she apologized, Riesling stopped barking to growl at Dagny with annoyance.

[red]Why are you apologizing?! This ASSWIPE has more to be sorry about than you![/red]

As soon as he stopped barking, Dagny continued.

“As you may have noticed, he could use some more company he can't destroy or eat, so I'm looking around for another pet that can... Keep up with him.”

Another PO'd growl from Riesling.

[red]They're called strays, not these namby-pamby, pet store variety weaklings! You know what? Screw this. I'm gonna prove it to you that I'm the top dog of this joint as soon as this cunt takes a hike![/red]
