Sometime after the Imperial withdrawal from Syria, a very big presence arrived at home base, and his arrival was announced when the doors to the mess hall flew open as if struck with a battering ram! Glistening with faint trails of sweat, smelling like the battlefield, caked in dust and sand and old blood which shook off him every now and then from his footsteps, Lucien looked - and smelled! - like he was in serious need of a shower. He hadn't had a chance for one yet, fresh from the front lines. The only clean thing about him was the shine of white teeth visible from his grin, as if he'd had a day at the carnival instead of being in the heart of the fighting against the Imperial army.

It had been a bit of a shame, saying his goodbyes to the military forces he'd been helping out, but he was here now! And surely off to do more great deeds in the future! They couldn't rest on their laurels, after all, and soon the Empire's reckoning would be at hand! With a rumble of laughter, he nudged past crowds of agents to get to the food line, taking up a tray and waving to the staff, oblivious to the look of shock one shot to the dried blood all over his hands.

"Two of everything! It's good to be home!"

Eliott was startled throughout the entire entrance, sinking partly under the table like a startled cat.

She would maintain a glare on Lucien everywhere he went.

She didn't trust anyone this loud and happy when they're covered in grossness.

Not one bit.

Everything about him made her uncomfortable. The tone of his voice, that laughter, the dirt, the smell, the size and the fact he practically took those doors off their hinges.

"SOME OF US WERE ENJOYING THE PEACE."

She yells.

From her hiding spot.

Nothing did. He hadn't seen whomever shouted at him when he craned his head around to look, but that wouldn't stop a booming, spirited reply! The servers who were piling food higher and higher on his tray, until they had to actually grab a second one for him, looked to each other in confusion.

"He can't be serious..."

Lucien wasn't aware of that conversation, as a veritable mountain of food was finally before him! Two items, of literally everything the hall served. He actually needed to grab a random agent to take one of the trays, just because balancing both at once would probably require a telekinetic! And then the quest for a table ensued.

Mark and Eliott's table was one of the less populated ones, as agents parted before him as if avoiding a grumpy grizzly bear, and so that was the one he'd head for!

Good. Mark is pleased, because he's not nearly as large as Lucien is. He'd conditioned himself for more speed, and to keep himself from being overburdened by muscle like his father.

However, when Lucien sits down at their table, he just sort of stares at the Frenchman, now even more confused by this behavior.

Lucien's attention was far more on the food than the agents, as once he settled down, a little away from them, he tucked right in! "Feeding frenzy" was usually a term reserved for sharks, but it was probably accurate to what Mark and Eliott would be seeing, as the load on Lucien's trays steadily grew smaller.

War could build up one hell of an appetite in somebody.
