And the third thrust of the blade would be aimed right for her heart! The razor tip of the blade slicing through the air as the tests were done.
Should it find it's mark however Averie would find that the blade did not slice through her skin or clothing, but would just jab into her like it had been made of wood.
Averie drew her blade back to deflect the blow, a look of frustration crossed her face.
Well, if you were gonna jump in with both feet, you took the landing and...lived to tell the tale, apparently. The blade was blunt, not at all what she expected. She though to turn into a flesh kabob, but instead, the sword just knocked into her like one of her brothers with their obnoxious pointy fingers before she pinned them.
"Point taken." Again with the raised brow at the other girl. This was new.
"Sure." Averie flipped a braid over one shoulder with a shrug, though she didn't elaborate on what she was answering specifically. Of course she wasn't shit right out the gate. She wasn't plannning on years of dedication to an obsolete weapon, however. If Polly could make it work for her, then good for her, but Averie could think of better ways to spend her time or dedication on.
"Exactly." The response ears a wicked grin and a laugh from Averie. Even with being an endless ball of sunshine, she was alright. She handed over the blade with a click of her tongue.
"Gotta say, you're a lot more sunshine than I see with other people at Paradigm." It's an assumption, sure, but one that Averie was betting pretty heavily on.
"Good luck whenever you go next, then." And good luck to the stuff she's around. Some of the sarcasm faded, though not completely. She wasn't sure if the girl came out here hoping for the best, or if she just took the blades everywhere. Like a security blanket.
Averie doesn't comment on Polly's evaluation. It does sound like something she'd expect the other girl to say, though. And it looked like she was Paradigm; 'us' didn't seem to apply to some other group at the moment.
"Sure, same." Vague answers are vague, though she apparently meant it to cover what Polly said in general.
"Sure am, though it sounds like I missed the big bang." Freaking Paradigm not standing up to a human wrecking ball.
"Good." Averie nodded, satisfied with the response and amused by the tone. Her smirk returned as she started walking out of the alley. If it could be knocked down, then it would be rebuilt. Again.
Her grin widened seeing that Averie seemed to see the opportunity just as she did. That's why there was no time to sit around sulking. Things would pick up again and when it did, Polly didn't plan to miss out!
Giving Averie's back a small two fingered salute Polly would return her attention to the fridge and lunge forward with a strike in the same fluid motion as she drew the sword. She wasn't finished yet.
