The kick lands! Mae's kicked back from her opponent. She rolls to one side and onto her feet, the movement slower with the burst of pain. Her position stayed defensive.
"That's the best you can come up with?" Her words were cut off as Mae ducked and rolled towards lance as the bean from his namesake burst overhead in a beam of blinding light.
"What are you, five?" Come on.
Rather than critique his ability to insult on the fly further, Maeve would feint to the right, looking to press Lance back and to get in close enough that he'd have to give up his weapon.
"Sure, but mentally?" The blow lands, hitting Mae full on in the stomach and throwing her off. Her hands grip the shaft of his lance to keep him close and land a kick to his own gut, trying to pull the weapon away!
Yeah, she knows. While Mae could curse herself for the poor decision, she's hoping she can still win before it gets worse.
"Alright darling, it's a cute trick. Now do a girl a favor and let's see about getting rid of it." Are those stars? Yes they are. Because she headbutted a helmet.
Since she's stuck with him for the moment, Mae focuses on keeping them moving, pushing them both back with Lance in front of her as she kicks at one of his legs!
He keeps his footing until she kicks it out from him, knocking him onto his side! Still holding hte lance as well, Lance pulls back, trying to flip Maeve onto her back! She's frozen up to her biceps!
Well that wasn't fun. Worry actually starts to settle in as the ice continues to climb, locking her elbows in place as Mae is thrown to the floor with Lance on top, tucking her knees up to keep space between them. It was cute that he was worried. Publicity or genuine concern, they both had the same idea: end it now.
Maeve gives him a sweet smile, noting the glimmer of water just beyond reach. Close enough.
"You're right. Time to end this." Her smile turned into a sharp grin, still showing thecanines. "But I ain't gonna lose a limp dick."
Without any ceremony, she shifted her weight and pushed him off with her feet, rolling to go with Lance so he lands fist in the water and takes the dunk for her. Like any real hero.
"You're not going to lose a limp dick?" The strange comment confuses Lance as he's pusshed off! They both head for the water but are rolling. Looks like they are both going to go in at this point!
She's still got the feral agility and reflexes, so when it seems like plan A...D...whatever one she's on oesn't work, she pulls back an throws her weight into it once she feels her shoulder touch the arena floor, using the change to let Lance roll over one final time and counter the shift.
Hopefully it's enough to get any part of him in the water for a ring out!
Maeve looks up at the presence of a potent stare at her, shivering as she tries to get to the ring again. She'll hold his gaze for a couple of seconds. Hopefully the silence doesn't drag.
Be it lack of the extra weight fro the ice and lance or the fact that it's still there, she will look to see where Lance is in all of this. She's assuming ice boy can swim, or at least isn't interested in being dead weight while she's stuck.
A triumphant smile lights her face at the declaration, though the image of an ideal victor is shattered as she tries to shake the feeling back into her hands and arms. Still, Lance's outburst is hard to miss. She steps up and holds a hand out to him while the clown is called in.
"Nice. You definitely gave me a run for it. Let me know if you ever want a rematch."
