Name: Daiyu Rydell
Nickname(s):
Status: Paradigm Trainee
Age: 19 years old
Gender: Female
Nationality: American
Ethnicity: Half Chinese, Half American
Height: 5’6”
Weight: 135 lbs
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual

Appearance:

Personality: She’s headstrong and overly confident which isn’t always warranted. While she’s not an idiot per se, she certainly has her moronic moments that just kinda happen to work out for her in the end. Due to that stroke of luck, there aren’t many opportunities for her to learn from her mistakes so she just carries on with the knowledge that she’s always right in the end.

She’s not good at following, preferring to be the one who calls the shots even if that means taking someone’s plan and pretending she came up with it all along.

Interests: Action and Adventure
Skills: Athleticism, high endurance, persistent

Abilities/Powers:

50/50 Strikes- Daiyu has the ability to heal with a strike or do an exceptionally strong hit. Unfortunately since she has learned zero control over which one she uses, it’s a coin toss how long it’ll take before she uses the correct one in any situation.

Slightly enhanced strength and recovery- Daiyu’s a bit stronger than average. She won’t be lifting cars over her head, but, she could probably lift the front of one with some difficulty. She also has a passive healing that makes her a bit more enduring. Scrapes and bruises won’t exactly disappear before her eyes, but they’ll probably be gone by the end of the day.

History:
Daiyu is the daughter of Xiao Ranling and Adam Rydell, as well as the half-sister of Mark Rydell and step-sister of Jack Makaila. Her mother was finally able to settle down and remove herself from the Empire situation, returning to her job at Paradigm and part-timing at regular hospitals while no longer taking to the field.

Daiyu would learn a lot about pride from her father, even though there wasn’t any single thing she seemed to take pride in in particular. It just turned into a very general pride in just everything she does. Not a bad thing in terms of self-esteem, but, her mother had to work hard to trying to at least ingrain SOME humility. And for the most part it sort of worked…in that even if she towered above all others, she needed to be sympathetic to those below her. Not quite what Ran was going for but it was a start.

That attitude would eventually turn into something more akin to heroism, and Daiyu took it upon herself to save those in need whenever she could. That attitude naturally set her on the path of joining Paradigm.

Her lack of control over her power has caused her to have an extended stay as a trainee, but, she’s had many opportunities to join in on real missions so long as she’s under the care of a full agent.
