((Couldn’t think of a reason to fight Tiao, though I still want to.))

He approached the Knox grounds, a Fremont student in civilian garb as to, hopefully, not to draw attention towards him. The situation between Knox and Fremont in general still remained bitter, most Knox students not liking to see the rival academy in their territory and vice versa for Fremont. However, having been under the radar for so long, Jinn was missing out on one of the more important aspects of his life. It had been a long while since he had faced a talented opponent, Aroon being the most memorable, and if anyone would offer him the challenge he sought for, it’d be Samuel Weston, of Knox academy.

Word spread fast through the Collective of talented fighter’s. Organized tournaments and odd fights around the Campus grounds gave word of those who were deemed good, great or the best of the best. That’s what he sought after. Having met and seen Samuel on multiple occasions and hearing the odd mention of him and other students around the campus, the Knox student seemed like an obvious choice to pit himself against.

It all depended of if Samuel was up for a bout and f Jinn could actually find the man in the academy. Stepping into the grounds, he took a long glance around the area. This was his first time in Knox territory, never bothering, or having reason, to step foot in the area prior. Students were walking through the grounds, some eyeing the Fremont student as they passed by. He didn’t want to draw attention to himself, at least until he ran into Weston.

He walked around the Academy, stopping, and asking the odd student if they had happened to see Samuel around the area. Most students offered nothing but a shrug, or negative response before continuing on their way, few others offered a derogatory term for an answer.

Jinn continue don through the halls, ultimately coming up to the mess hall, opening the cold metal door to take a look inside.

“Ah.”

He approached the target, the few odd students in the room turning at the sight.

“Hey. I’ve been looking for you.”

It had been a couple weeks since the big tournaments. Samuel Weston had joined mostly for the experience and competition. While not trying to losing, Sam didn't enter planning on winning. Still, not one of his matches came to decision as he finished every one of his opponents leading up to the final, where unfortunately, he was finished.

Samuel was a great sport fighter, but competitions had rules. This tournament, didn't. His opponent, Pain Killer, had proven to be an extremely effective opponent, albeit a cheap one. Samuel had always known MMA had its holes outside the ring (or in this case within it), but had never faced too much trouble growing up. This year, however, Samuel's passive nature didn't seem to be working too well with all the new transfers. Whether it was that terrorist Ari, or the big bad Fletcher, Samuel was fighting more and more outside of the ring.

It was these thoughts that kept him from really listening to those sitting at the table around him in the cafeteria. He didn't snap out of his thoughts til everyone's head turned, looking past Samuel Weston and behind him, towards the door. Sam's head turning with all the others, he looked as a recognizable Fremont student spoke his way.

"Campbell?" Samuel said, turning his chair ninety degrees to his left, removing the strain on his spine from trying to look over his shoulder for too long.

"What's up?"

“Nothing, really.”

He shrugged, moving around mess hall table, taking a seat at the opposite side of the Knox student. The students around him gave off a more curious glare than a threatening one. Chances were the students of the academy didn’t recognize which section of the collective that Jinn was from, which made sense, as he lacked any sort of identification to blatantly give it away. The only one, who really seemed to remember him, was Samuel, and hat was perfectly fine in Jinn’s regard.

He leaned, in talking softly, as not intending to strike up any attention.

“I was wondering if you’d like to have a bout with me. When or wherever is fine.”

He was craving it. His last two battles were not that memorable, the first leaving before the fight could finish and the second rarely attacking and performing poorly when he did. Samuel had a small, yet decent reputation around Fremont and threw off a vibe that he wasn’t one of the dirty fighter’s Jinn had found himself up against as of late. An eye-gouge attempt from JT was the first thought that came to mind.

“Truth be told, I’m having a dry spell. I haven’t had one of those more exciting fights in a long time and I was hoping you’d indulge me. You seem like a nice enough guy.”

"A spar?"

Samuel more repeated and repharased in his own words rather than actually askin a question. He hadn't known Jinn was a fighter, but he wasn't all the surprised. Most people around here were, in one form or another. On further thought, Samuel remembered him entering a tournament. That, or he was just making things up in his brain.

"Yeah, sure. I've been slacking off lately anyways, could use the practice. Meet at the gymnasium at 3:30 or so?"

Samuel would suggest, alotting for any changes Jinn needed, otherwise saying his farewell for now and meeting up later.

(OOC: Assuming you don't care about small talk either...)

---Gym, 3:27 pm---

Samuel was decked in the same Hayabusa fightwear he wore during the last tournament, including grappling shorts, four ounce gloves, and a cup to top it off, just in case. He'd been here for almost ten minutes, always preferring to be punctual and allowing time for a light stretch to prevent him from pulling anything. When Jinn arrived, he'd let him stretch out or be ready to begin, whatever his challenger's preference was. When he was ready, he'd hold out his fist for a bump to start, smirking.

"Let's see if were still nice guys after this."

“That sounds perfect and I appreciate you accepting. I’ve been yearning for a fight like this.”

Samuel made his farewell, parting with Jinn for the short time. He stood up from the bench, taking one last look around before making his way to the nearest restroom to change into something more fitting. The bag slung over his shoulder the same items he used in more professional matches. It seemed fitting, wearing something like that against the Knox student; fighting in the Academy gym. He wondered just how professional Samuel would be in all this.

***

Jinn made his way into the gym to see Samuel had already shown up. For how long was unknown, but he respected the punctuality of his opponent. He sported blue and black gym shorts that descended down to his knees, his hands and feet covered in bandage for support. The rest of his body was bare, ready for a fight. Unlike Samuel, he held no groin protection, believing he would do without one. The opponent spoke upon his arrival, leaving a smirk on Jinn’s face.

“Well I’d hope so. My roommate and I beat the shit out of each other and are still on good terms. I hope we can do the same.”

Samuel held out his fist to signify the beginning of the match. Jinn approached, bringing out his right fist to meet with the opponent’s. He hoped this would prove to be as much as he was anticipating, something he would truly feel good about, no matter how physically painful it ended up. He held a large, cocky grin on his face as he glared down Samuel, stepping back and lifting his arms to head level. He was ready.

He advanced first, stepping off his left leg, Jinn moved in for the opponent, Once in distance, he attacked cautiously, pulling back on his right arm before sending a hook for the upper left arm-to-shoulder section, following through, placing weight on his right leg and twisting his lower body to throw his left knee into the side of Samuel’s midsection before bringing his leg back onto the hard floor.

Samuel smiled, relieved at Jinn's response. Sam can take a hell of a beating and smile afterwards, but he wasn't sure Campbell would be the same. He couldn't say the two of them were very good friends, but he is one of the few people Samuel has met this year that didn't try to stomp his face in yet. That counted, right?

Facing Jinn in typical stance, he let his left side out forward. Samuel was slightly shorter than Campbell, but a bit more built as well. Physically, the two of them probably weren't far off save a slight strength/speed difference accordingly. Jinn did have a longer reach, though, which is why Samuel was more than happy with how he started his attack.

Pushing off his front foot Samuel would move to the back angle, off towards his own right. As he did so, Sam would snap a crisp and clean jab towards the center of Jinn's face, aimming for the nose. As Jinn's hook/knee combination came in, he'd be planted for the moment, preventing an evasion. Jinn's hook would sail just in front of Sam's shoulder before the jab would strike above it. Depending on the depth Jinn threw his knee out, it would either strike air, or just touch the skin on his abdominal muscles.

With the attack, Samuel began as well, throwing his fist straight ahead for Jinn’s face. Eyes on the opponent, Jinn’s upper body shifted with his arm, moving his head to the right as the jab sailed past. Jinn’s hook hit air, ineffective, as well as the knee, which he pulled back to the floor quickly. Not wanting to shift from the offensive, his legs bent slightly, and his left arm tight to his side, fist clenched.

With Jin’s left leg planted back on the ground, he’d continue with an aggressive, offensive attack. Pushing off the left leg, he moved in on the already close opponent, sailing past Samuel’s extended arm, thrusting his left fist into the opponent’s abdomen before pulling the arm back to his side. To follow up, Jinn’s right arm, once more, pulled back before being sent for the left side of Samuel’s face, his upper body, leaning back slightly to fully extend the range and strength of his attack.

It was all about advantage. Staying on the offense, not letting up on the opponent, and wearing him down before he wore himself out. Samuel seemed smart and wise for his age. It was respectable, but it made him much more of a threat. Jinn knew this, coming into the fight, and was ready to fight full force if necessary, He’d see just what this Knox student was made of, but it didn’t seem he’d be disappointed.

Jinn was fast, probably faster than Samuel. However, unlike Jinn, Samuel's initial movements provided no need for readjustment. As such when Jinn came in a second time, Samuel was ready.

Campbell was able to slip the jab without harm, but it had served its purpose. The jab was simply to break rhythm and force movement--both successfuly for Samuel Weston. Immediately following the jab, Samuel's hips would turn over as he out the powerful right hand. Rather than a typical straight cross, Samuel went to intercept the lowering motions of his opponent. Sending an overhand right, Sam would lean to the left just slightly with his attack, sending his arm at a downwards angle.

At the same time Jinn's left hand would connect slightly off kilter to its target on Sam's abdomen, Samuel's cannon of a right hand would land on the left side of Jinn's face at the temple and cheekbone. Enough to knock out even some of the tougher fighter's out there, it would surely be enough to disrupt the balance of Jinn, also making it unable for him to immediately turn for his follow up right hand.

Instead of immediately pulling back his right hand, Samuel would open his fist and place his hand on the left ear of Jinn. Unless knocked out completely, Samuel would use a moment to gauge his opponent's stability--his next move depending on Campbell's.

His opponent was smart. An experienced fighter that remained rare to see in the Collective, Jinn had known what he was getting himself into and what would come from the most simple of mistakes. Samuel knew what he was doing and he did it well, thus Jinn had to bring his all at full force. His opponent was talented, but this wouldn’t be a fight Jinn was willing to lose.

He wasn’t unaware of Samuel’s positioning; of where his attack had left him. He felt he was being underestimated; certainly not unprepared for Samuel’s response. Spotting the motion of Samuel’s body, he continued with his initial attack of his right arm meeting with Samuel’s abdomen. His right arm moved to Jinn’s left side, intercepting the falling arm of the larger opponent around the wrist. One arm wasn’t strong enough to prevent the attack, however left the strike irrelevant, without enough force to hinder Jinn’s advance.

His left arm retracting from the opponent’s abdomen, Jinn kept a firm hold on the opponent’s wrist. Pulling Samuel’s arm to the right, he brought his upper body back from the opponent, which his left fist for the upper side of Samuel’s head, releasing the captured arm in the process and following up with an uppercut under the opponent’s chin. Staying on the offensive, Jinn retracted his right arm as he whipped his left knee into the opponent’s side.

Samuel was a strong opponent, but even he would be thrown off from such an advance, allowing Jinn to finish him off, pulling his right arm to his left and throwing his elbow for the right temple of the opponent’s head.

(OOC: Sorry if I cut off your post a little ;))

Samuel never underestimated anyone, be it the giant William Fletcher or the child Ian Park. Instead, he simply lived in the moment. Living in the now, Samuel was free to be the best he could be without worry of what was, or what could be. It was this reason that he was almost always ready for anything.

Even as the punch went out, Samuel's body instantly began to react to Campbell's movements, as the Fremont student continued to turn to the (your) left. As Samuel's wrist was intercepted somehow with enough force to prevent the powerful overhand right, Samuel had already continued moving. Bringing his left knee up and in, Samuel would bring a hard knee into the exposed right set of Jinn's ribs. There wouldn't need to be a shift of balance, as it was his lead leg, making it hard to see coming even if Jinn was in position to see it. With Campbell's lowered upperbody, there was little doubt for a broken set of ribs.

No doubt breaking Jinn's rhythm along with the ribs, Samuel would press his offensive. Samuel's right hand would twist around and grip onto Jinn's wrist as well, easily changing the dominance of his hold with his strength advantage. Pulling the arm to his right, Samuel would whip Jinn to the side as he sent a snappy left hook to the cheekbone.
