A small stream of crimson flowed from the corner of his cracked lips, down over his pale skin and onto the collar of his fresh white dress shirt, instantly staining it with fine circular drops. Using the sleeve of his blazer he wiped away the excess blood before recurling his hands into fists. Sweat ran down from under his hair, the fine brown strands matted across his forehead as he stared up through his eyebrows. He had just bumped into him from behind, how did it turn to violence so quickly? This new school, new atmosphere, new city, new life… It was all just starting to become a bit to confusing. But now wasn’t the time to think about that. He had more important matters, like the six foot something, two hundred plus asshole that had just used him as a punching bag.

It wasn’t like he had just stood there and took it, but the older guy was more confident, and seemed to use his reach advantage quite well. This was made all the more notable by the exhausted freshmen with a small cut over his right eye and a split lip. His dress shirt was pulled from his slacks, the heel of his left shoe was already coming off, and a couple buttons on his blazer were scattered over the grass. Lifting his hands up past eye level he tensed up his shoulders as he looked at the junior… Or possibly senior student advance again. Having just taken a good number of punches he was beginning to start and see through his movements. Little twitches in his body that showed what he was about to throw.

Seeing a dip in the height of his left hand and his elbow being pushed out Richard knew he was going to strike with a left hook, so instinctively he brought his right arm back, grabbing the back of his head as he tightly pressed his bicep and forearm together. Moving forward at the same time he took the blow from his attackers forearm, rather then his fist, which glanced over his head and left his ribs exposed. Only problem was that he was to tired and to tense to properly drop his arm and throw out the strike needed to be effective. So rather then trying to punch the prick he just continued forward, dropping his body weight forward as he went for a single leg, tightly wrapping his left arm around his thigh, holding it against his chest as he secured it with his right arm. Stepping back he pulled with all his might to pull the older student off balance and throw him onto his back.

Luckily, despite the weight difference, the freshman was able to get the senior on his back, leg trapped against his chest. Spinning around he sat down on the Jr/Seniors hip, keeping the leg straight before he sat back and fell to the side, cracking on the knee until he heard a sickening crackle and a earth shattering bellow from behind. Another firm tug and he let go, turning over and throwing a clenched left fist square into the guys nose, cracking his head into the ground before wearily getting up. His right eye was half open as he instinctively wiped at the dried blood on his chin, trying to get it off as he looked around at the small group of people who had stopped to watch. This was the first time he’d ever gotten into a fight outside of the gym; it was odd how fulfilling it felt. Stumbling away from the random adversary he tried to make his way infirmary, only to realize he had no clue where it was. Stopping he stood there with a puzzled look on his face, unsure of what to do next.

((ooc - I was going to wait as long as I could to start posting again until I could finish another thread >_> but I just can't help myself - soooo I hope you don't mind =3 *needs to whip this character back into shape*))

Like always, Aleece was on her way to class, but this time there was no casual lingering or taking her time she wanted to get in the building and just get it over with then get back to her dorm. With her cover pulled down low, practically hiding her eyes she kept her swift strides at a noticeably purposeful stride. The only thing that was really able to be discerned on her face was the serious line that her lips were pressed into - quite the change if anyone knew her. As usually, however, her Knox uniform looked impeccable with creases down the harms of her jacket, and legs of her pants. The toes of her boots were polished as brightly as she could possibly get them and the book she had taken to her dorm with her after class yesterday was grasped in her hand swinging at her side in time with her steps.

But...there was something different about her, that light naive air was gone, despite her size and her unobtrusiveness...maybe it was it was all in her head, but she felt a bit more cynical. And perhaps just wasn't the right word to describe it, but she had certainly tried to keep more to herself instead of giving in to the urge to stick her nose into things it didn't belong in. Regardless of any of that as she made her way to class intent on getting there as soon as possible, but it was the sight that she spotted on her way that made her feet falter.

She always passed Fremont (or rather near it) on her way to Knox, the way she took anyways, and even though she should know by now - if you see someone bleeding call someone that can take care of it or keep walking - she couldn't seem to help herself. Aleece had had her fair share of the crazies around here, she didn't need anymore. So what made her path correct itself and head straight for the guy? Her damn bleeding heart is what...

As she drew closer she saw that he was slightly confused, maybe he had a concussion? Aleece didn't know but by now it was hardly an odd sight to see someone who had gotten into a fight around here and was worse for wear because of it (likewise she hardly batted an eyelash at seeing groups of people together at any given time. Approaching with some notable amount of reservation Aleece tried to catch his attention by stepping into his line of vision while keeping far enough back. (She hated to admit that she was this cautious around people she didn't know...more specifically males, now.)

Jerking her chin up in a short gesture she reached in her pocket for the clean, neatly folded handkerchief to pull it out as she spoke. "You alright there? Need some help?"

Holding the light colored piece of fabric out to him she tipped her head a bit, intending for him to take it as she had noticed the smear of blood under his lip.

Seeing the young women make her way towards him put the freshmen in a much more reserved manner. Her subtle body language and face appeared to show concern, rather then hostility, which let Richard relax. Slumping forward he rested his hands on his knees, taking several deep breaths before he returned to a vertical base – moving like he had just been launched from an elastic band with his fast he straightened up in front of her. See her clean pressed uniform made him speculative to reach out for the handkerchief, only because he didn’t want to dirty her clean cloths.

“I… Ah. I’m fine… I think.” He started off stumbling, felt like junior high all over again, only this time his forehead was pounding most likely from the multiple blows he had just taken along with his bent to standing motion. “I um, just don’t know where the infirmary is…” Closing his left eye he brought his hand up, trying to rub away whatever he felt was there, feeling the tender muscle and bone of the socket, making him tighten his lips as he held back a sound of pain. Forgetting his prior thoughts on her held he slowly reached out to grasp the light-coloured fabric while still holding his eye. Dabbing it on his tongue he got the corner wet before wiping under his lip and across his chin, trying to get the last remnants of dried blood.

He tried to smile as friendly as he could, but it just seemed odd given the situation. As his lips curled up he felt the cut split and spread across his teeth. The taste of blood filled his mouth as he tried to thank her, but instead held his free hand up with her handkerchief, trying to motion to give him a second as he turned away from her and spat a mouthful of blood onto the lawn behind him, followed by several more small ‘aftershock’ mouthfuls.

Turning back to the Knox Academy student his mind fell back into a blank as he dropped his hand by his side, clenching her handkerchief by his side. He figured he should say something, anything, but he was having a hard time with his words. He was overly anxious given his bout of firsts on that day, so confusion just seemed to peer back up over his face before his chin and gaze lowered, muttering a nearly inaudible phrase. “Ah…. Thank you.”

The guy looked to be around her age when she got a real good look at him, but at his almost shy? fumbling for words she felt the severe (though concerned) expression ease up a bit. She almost though he wasn't going to take the handkerchief she offered, nodding slowly when he said he didn't know where the infirmary was. Honestly she wasn't sure where it was at Fremont either but...she was sure that it wasn't that hard to find...she had been in the school before. Faintly Aleece returned the smile with a smaller one of her own, lifting a hand to push the brim of her hat up a little more, grimacing a little when the cut on his lip split even more.

Everyone of his minor gestures, the way he clenched the handkerchief at his side, the way he still seemed a little confused - probably disoriented, and looked at the ground muttering a thanks. It wasn't exactly the mannerisms you saw at the collective. She had seen the confident, the quiet, the supposedly heroic, and of course the nut jobs with god complexes...never really reserved in this way. Pressing her lips together she gave her next words some thought before going on.

"Well...its no problem," she said softly but clearly, "I can help you find the nurses office if you want? Or...someone that won't take another pot shot at you - though...I dunno how intimidating I look to keep away unsavory characters."

Her words were said with a slightly sardonic twist and she couldn't help but feel he was new here. Sure there was a lot of people that she didn't know that attended all the schools but Aleece wasn't able to place him anywhere. "First day?" She asked with enough ease to hopefully make the guy feel like he didn't have to worry...especially about her, if anything she should be a little more on guard, but she couldn't seem to help herself - the way he acted just seemed to scream that he might be a little younger then his looks suggested.

Lifting his chin he looked at her, seeing her for the first time with her hat pushed up. She had soft skin, a clear complexion. She looked a bit like someone you’d see on television, but that was strictly his opinion. His tension seemed to dissipate, his right hand unclenching a bit so he was just holding the fabric across his curled fingers; now acting as thought it was the most delicate thing in the world. He kept his left hand up by his eye, not sure it was swelling, but the slight pressure felt good for the moment.

“That’d be great… Thanks.” He said with a light heart, sighing softly afterwards as he looked at the world through one open eye. “I’ll clean this for you too…” He said, lifting up her handkerchief, unsure of what else to do with it by keep it wrapped in his fingers as he stood there. He started to fidget after that, looking around for the direction that would play hostess to the nurse’s office. As completed a full, multi-stop turn he heard her question, enjoying the frankness and direct attitude of it. All he could do was smirk at the question while lowering his left hand, keeping his left eye closed from the minor swelling that was starting to form.

“Uh, yeah. That obvious huh?” He realized after he said it how stupid his question was, he was dazed, confused and unable to find the nurses office. Seemed like a first timer any way you look at it. “Today’s been a group of firsts for me.” He wasn’t really trying to start a conversation, just directing his thoughts outward vocally without really realizing. After his ‘blonde’ moment he had turned away from the Knox Academy student at a slight angle, looking towards Fremont in order to see which entrance would be the closest.

Aleece sent him a bemused smile, not really worried about whether or not she'd get the handkerchief back quite honestly, and when he went on to ask if it was that obvious she quirked an eyebrow. It really was...but she didn't think the question needed that sort of response right now. Clearing her throat she headed in the direction of the nearest front entrance, a good idea were the nurses office would be from there.

"Well I don't know if its obvious to anyone else, but," she looked over to him as she started walking, "if you've attended the collective for any length of time...you become quite intimately acquainted with the nurses office. Or...home health care."

Personally she had never gotten into any fight, not counting the training session with Annalise Turner where she got her block almost knocked completely off. Also what had happened with JT could hardly be called a fair fight...licking her lips Aleece pushed her thoughts in a different direction then that in light of her current company. "Sorry," she said after a moment realizing that the conversation had lulled and she still hadn't introduced herself, "the names Aleece. I go to Knox....obviously."

She glanced down at her uniform briefly, and couldn't help but think to herself that even though the uniform fit her perfectly - it could be said she didn't fit the uniform. Glancing to the side to the nameless face walking with her she continued the casual conversation, if not just to save from the entire thing getting awkward.

"So this is a day of firsts, huh?" Aleece asked looking back a head of her and taking a breath, "you mean you don't usually go around wanting people to hit you?"

It was a bad attempt of joking to lighten the conversation or rather...keep it light. The Chula Vista Collective wasn't a bad place...there was just a lot of really messed up individuals in close quarters to one another. It was a time bomb waiting to explode, in her opinion. Well, everyone thought of this place in one way or another, and even if hers wasn't exactly in shining pride for it all, this is where she had chosen willingly to attend for the remainder of her high school career.

Richard couldn’t help but snicker at her logical, yet funny comment. It made sense, but in such a way that you had to laugh at yourself for not realizing it sooner. And the mark about home health care was a delightful cherry on top.
“Home health care… yeah… Or maybe I should just take up sewing and first-aid?” He tried his best at a soft-hearted-but-witty-reply but felt he came up short in that department. Walking beside her felt like he was walking next to an apparition, not because she glided or sent a chill down his spine: in fact, nothing of the sort occurred, it was just because she was on his left side, which made things awkward with his eye closed.

“Aleece? That’s nice, Uh, I’m Richard.” He said as he abruptly stopped walking so she passed him, then stepped behind her and up to her other side, rubbing his left hand off on his pant leg – the only thing without blood dried on it – before extending it across his body for a shake.

“Not without regulation 4oz gloves and a mouth guard.” He wanted to smile after his small quip, thinking it was quite clever, but as soon as his lips twitched to curl upward he felt the pull of the cut across his lip. “Hm, yeah. Just moved down to San Diego from Canada…. Oh, and first day in High School, let alone one with Corporal Punishment. Uh, Mm, and that was my first ever fight.” Shaking his head he couldn’t believe how much of a comparison his ‘new life’ could be to the opening of a B movie.

Moving through the opened ebony gate onto the grounds of Fremont, as opposed to the collective, he swished his tongue around under his lip, lapping at the blood and collecting it in his mouth. Having already had a few negative moments in his day, he decided the least he could do was return to the favour to his new school. So while walking he turned his head away from Aleece and cleared his throat, spitting up another half mouth full of blood before patting his lip dry with the handkerchief.

“So…. Aleece… Do you prefer the tie, or camo?” He asked as he pulled his tie off with his left hand and looked over at her, trying his best to smile without smiling. A task especially hard to do with one eye swollen shut and tried blood plastered around the other.

Aleece's lips just curled up again into a grin at his come back...she was sure there were plenty of people around here that had gotten fairly good with a needle and thread as well as first aid. As they walked it didn't take long to get closer to the school and even if she had offered to take him (knowing where the nurses station was or not) she couldn't help but feel a bit awkward going into the school...again. The last time she had gone here on a whim was on the hunt for an illusive naked Thai - which had proven to be a rather good day either way. The punishment after for skipping the whole day? It was well worth it...those pictures had really sold...

Grinning to herself over the memory Aleece swallowed the majority of her amusement and looked over the smile slipping a little when he stopped and was almost tempted to do so herself, but saw him side step enough to get on her other side. Hey everyone had their quirks apparently his was the side of a person he had to walk on? Either way it wasn't a big deal and she got back the rhythm of her pace after the small falter in step. Noticing the hand being offered she of course took it shaking it, "nice to meet you then Richard...though I'm sure we could have met under better circumstances. Though...thats usually not the case here."

Dropping his hand Aleece noticed that they had crossed over onto the campus and she shot a look around, but promptly ignored the lingering looks of a Knox student on Fremont property. Once more she reached up and tugged down her cover, lowering it a bit, thinking that maybe that would make her go more unnoticed or something...right. Although she had done that she didn't stop the grin from pushing back on her lips at his quip, good to see he had a sense of humor.

Turning to look at Richard she nodded with interest. "Canada, eh? I mean-" shaking her head shortly she almost snorted a laugh at herself, "you're quite a ways from home then."

The reason for for most transfers were a wide range of reasons depending on the person and the situation so she wouldn't pry that deeply. By the time he asked her if she preferred the camo or tie they were just about to the school and she pulled a thoughtful look for the question he posed for her. Looking out of the corner of her eye she went a head and answered, "you ask as if you have excepted me to have ever snuck into Fremont, stolen a girls uniform and spent the day pretending to be a student here..."

Finally she laughed softly and nodded, "and you would be right, so I can say for certain I prefer a military uniform...not very comfortable in skirts, personally."

Looking at him fully Aleece tipped her head a little, jokingly, "besides...indigo looks horrible with my complexion. Its what swayed my decision to go to Knox...tan and green...much better."

It was obvious that she was teasing, she was hardly one to worry about making a fashion statement...she wasn't even wearing a stitch of make up, and hardly ever did. By the time she finished speaking they were at the front entrance and when Aleece stepped through she automatically pulled off her hat, lowering it to her side as she looked around, and smoothed her other hand over her hair that was growing back enough to pull back in a low bun; seeing the morning crowd...and the stares she got now for actually being in here. Somehow...she always seemed to get herself in the most uncomfortable of situations.

When she answered with a question, regarding ‘cryptic’ behaviour and an odd situation all he could do was walk beside her and remain quite, all while thinking: That’s not what I was asking at all. It was a good thing he remained silent, else he might’ve missed the chance to hear the follow up, a small toll to pay before learning more about the Knox Academy representative. Pocketing his tie he reached up with his left as they headed toward the doors be brushed his hair back, feeling his hand instantly covered with sweat as his hair became half spiked as he re-wiped his hands on his pants.

Stepping in front of her he grabbed the handle, pulling it open for her to step inside before following behind her, standing beside her as he looked over the crowd. If there was one thing he didn’t like it was the crowd in high school. Deciding quickly to ignore his urges to ghost into the crowd and remain along the side of the wall he instead looked back over at Aleece and replied her joke with a bit more honesty.

“I think you could pull it off, even if you don’t like the kilt.” He smirked, the right corner of his lip curling up as he shrugged his head towards her. “But, uh, you do pull off army green well.” Looking forward he tried his best not to blush, embarrassed by what he said more then anything else. Scratching his neck with his right hand he tried to peer through the crowd toward any sign of the nurses office.

“So… Uh… the nurses office… Did you happen to see it while you were playing spy?” He tried to remain lighthearted and change the subject over to something a bit easier to control. Looking at the crowd, rather then thru it, he noticed the glares and helps his cheeks go even brighter in cooler. “Guess I’m attracting a lot of stares…. uh, Sorry.” He wasn’t trying to be cocky or egotistical, he just figured a battered, bloody and bruised freshmen stood out more then the small Knox Academy student. Though, the more he thought about it the more he figured it was a combination of the two.

(OOC: Oh hai! Ima go ahead and be socially awkward now!)

----Early That Day----

"Wait, you want to fight...but who wanna finish class first?"

The large Boston native stared at the near seven foot tall 3rd try senior with a confused look on his face. The school year had just started up again, no real work yet, but this behemoth wanted to finish class before a fight? Roth himself was now repeating Senior year, but a fight was a 'in the moment' type of thing.

"Thats Right. I fail this year, there no future for me. Meet me after school in front of the statue. I'm gunna put you and your 'title' to shame."

Roth laughed a bit at the taller man. He was at least 20 years old, muscular, and now pissed off since Roth by an unfortunate twist of fate ended up ruining his first Anatomy & Physiology test. That would be the last time he went to that class for a while.

----Present----

Roth stood almost valiantly atop the shoulders of the bronzed statue of John C. Fremont. There was a single lit cigarette in his mouth. He had finally cracked and gone back to his bad habit. His signature matted black trench coat flowed in the wind as he waited for his confrontation with the knowledge seeking gargantuan.

It didn't take long for Roth's opponent to appear. Almost effortlessly Roth leaped off the twelve foot statue and paced upon the entrance of his new opponent. Slowly Roth grabbed the black leather, gold platted SDCFL title belt from his jacket and passed it over to a student next ti him. A sort of third party to hold the prize. It was an un-official match, and Roth new he would win. Basically, it was all for showmanship.

No words were spoken. At the moment Roth flicked away his remaining butt the gargantuan charged full force. Instinctively Roth leaped into the air and leap frogged his opponent. Really, he was toying with him.

"Toro! Toro! Ariba!"

Did Roth know Mexican or Spanish? No. He had been to a bull fight during his stay in Kansas and had grown up watching Speedy Gonzalez. Put the two together and you now have a seven foot tall man swinging three punches to your face. Roth stood his ground taking each punch. They hurt like hell, but thats what Roth was good at. Taking a punch.

With the decision to be flashy Roth ran up to the statue climbed it with a combination of speed and strength. Roth pushed off the waist of Fremont and dive bombed the large student with a Whisper in the Wind.

The falling twist hit directly with Roth's heel impacting with his opponents cranium. Unfortunately this man also knew how to take a hit. He caught Roth with a small stumble and held him tight in his grasp. Roth just sat there willing to take whatever happened next.

There was a blur and collision. The blur was the school and it's populace while collision was his body to the concrete walkway. Roth laid there and opened his eyes wide. He turned around and slowly began to get up. His first sight was a bloodied and bruised Freshman who looked like an exceptional fighter himself, and a familiar girl in camo.

"Oh, hey Aleece. Hair still growing back I see. And good day to you also (now looking at Richard). I'm Roth and...er...I'll be right back."

Now Roth had to take it serious. Not only did he want to finis his meeting of an old friend and possibly a new one, but he also had to impress the masses. Roth looked over and charged full force. He ran straight forward into a large kick from his opponent, but quickly shrugged it off. Grabbing the leg Roth ducked under and took his opponent down with his chest to the pavement. Roth quickly sprung off ignoring his current swelling bruises and executed the Boston Crab.

"Say Uncle and I won't make it worse!"

They struggled for a few seconds. Roth made a small pull and bend of his knees before the large man was tapping out and saying uncle. Quickly Roth released the man and helped him up afterwords.

"Now, I'm sorry I ruined that test there, I'll be careful next time, alright bud."

Roth smiled warmly and gave a pat on his back. Roth had one thing that he held very dear. Honor. The third party student ran over and returned the title to Roth. The Boston wrestler threw it over his shoulder and proceeded to walk back over to Aleece and her friend.

"Sorry bout that. Now where were we?"

Aleece stifled a short laugh at his answer to her joking and the reaction at himself that his answered seemed to cause - especially (what seemed to be) the flirtatious comment about pulling off her current color scheme. She hadn't exactly pulled the whole thing off very well when she had had to return for her uniform, wearing the stolen female Fremont attire.

She remembered being caught by that interesting character, Seth, but the encounter had been brief and she hadn't seen him again after bumping into him. Oh of course she always managed to spot people here and there that she had met on accident, placing their faces with names at a later time, but it didn't take away from the fact she wasn't even acquaintances with them, and more then likely wouldn't be.

However there were plenty of people she was friends with in this school, ones she talked to on occasion with out any really prompt to do so, and she wondered with half a mind if they would happen to come across any of them. It would certainly help seeing as how she wasn't sure where they nurses office was exactly, herself. But really if anything Aleece had a good sense of direction...for the most part and as she started to ignore the rather dirty looks, be it, his state or her uniform brought on she glanced around quickly for where they needed to go.

It was the sound of a rather rambunctious crowd that got her attention first before she could open her mouth to speak, and she took an instinctive step back at the sight of one very familiar figure colliding with concrete. Roth. She didn't know exactly why she had missed the entire thing coming up, probably because she wasn't focused on much at all at the moment. Aleece couldn't help but let her lips curl up as her and Richard stood there in the entrance to the school, "hey there, hero..."

Taking a breath she cleared her throat as he excused himself for a moment, nodding and gesturing as if it was no big deal. Glancing Richards way she quirked an amused eyebrow before turning her attention back to the fight. Or...what little there was left of it yet, and when her dark haired friend seemed to able to make his opponent submit, he came back over when the entire show was over.

"Sorry bout that. Now where were we?"

"Well, I was just helping Richard here to the nurses office...but to be honest while I'm sure I can find it I'm not entire sure where it's at." Answered without really thinking about it, as she studied the tall Irishman in front of her. That land probably wouldn't have left him unscathed and she made a small gesture to his head, as her brow knitted together in concern.

"You okay? You need to go to the nurses office too?" Though it was genuine concern she couldn't keep the joking out of it as well. "The more the merrier after all..."

((ooc - hahah...^_^; sorry if this is all over the place, I've been drinking a wee bit =/ and damn it Roth XD Lemme edit this up real quick >_< *hugs*

EDIT: finished editing XP...and lemme tell you...I'm a cheap drunk so that was no easy task :( ))

As Richard went to open the door for Aleece the voice he heard from behind seemed a bit loud, even for out doors. Turning slightly he looked over his shoulders as the noticed another six foot plus student heading towards them. It was obvious he knew Aleece, which wasn’t something he’d frown upon or make rash decisions about guy. The idle chatter, the quick introduction, the rush back into the fray all seemed so cinematic, as though if he looked up he notice camera crews filming from the windows and a director somewhere behind the scene. That, toppled with the wrestling technique almost made him certain this was turning into a low budget film.

“He’s…eccentric. “

That was all Richard could think of to describe the man jogging back over to them. Even though there was only a three-inch difference between the two men he still felt dwarfed, possibly because of Roth’s confidence, or was it cockiness? Or perhaps it had to do with his build, carrying at least fifty pounds of more muscles. Or, maybe it was just that despite both of them having won their respective fights, he was more brutally beat up, and Roth was, well Roth was Roth.

Standing back there was almost an invisible line strung across from Aleece to either wall, separating him from Roth as he stood, now with his back to the entrance as he reached up and gently felt the tender socket of his eye. Standing behind his invisible shield he watched and listened to Aleece chat with him. It was as if this conversation had reiterated the fact that yes, he was still hurt, and yes he did still need to head to the nurses office.

After Aleece’s ‘the more the merrier’ comment he stepped forward with his right foot, extending his right hand as he decided to chime in on the conversation, if only for a moment. “Uh, and um, on that note, I’m Richard.”

Richard? Roth paused for a moment in recollection. He had met another Richard before...Richard Savage. He was older then this new one, but Roth already liked the new one more. This one looked like he could hold his own and have enough smarts for when he couldn't. With a warm smile and a firm grasp Roth shook his hand and spoke with a friendly tone.

"Richard, I like that name. Looks like you got roughed up a bit. But if your walk'in as good as you are I'm gunna go ahead and say that you won."

On that note Roth would release his new friends hand and look over to Aleece, then to Richard, and the collectively at the two. They both stared at him with what seemed to be an unease. Roth took his left hand and began to feel his face. Three red lumps arose from his forehead and right side of his face, while the left side was covered in a small bit of road burn with a few trickles of blood forming on his cheek.

To Roth these were only small wounds, but had to be treated none the less. He wasn't that stupid. In his business when pride got in the way of tending an injury you saw people with Gangrene, infections, and in some extremely bloody cases, AIDS transferal.

"If you guys are looking for the nurse I can show you the way. I guess you could call me a regular customer there. Not to mention all the cases I bring in too."

Roth rushed up in the middle of his two friend and opened the large Fremont High door. His glistening champion belt still hung from his shoulder, which he would put away after Richard and Aleece made their way inside.

"After You."

Aleece shook her head at both of them, meeting Richard after a fight then Roth, coincidentally, after his fight though...that one looked like it was more intentional, then not. She didn't think she would ever actually understand the seemingly inherent need for violence in males, instead of defense, because there was no doubt that one needed to know how to defend ones self in the collective. Either that or, just make friends with really big people...the tactic had worked well so far for her anyways.

She realized after she had turned to walk in with both Roth and Richard that with the wrestler here she didn't exactly need to go in with them, but she was bustled along regardless her attention going to the tall figure next to her. Her eyes fell down to the gold belt that she easily associated with a championship award of some sort dealing with wrestling. "So was all that the mercenary part of you, you mentioned?"

Quirking an eyebrow she grinned a bit recalling the conversation from a while back when she had run across Roth in her neck of the woods on campus. With some obscurity to what was at hand remembered the burger place they had gone too (and had gone back to on her own) the food there just as good as he had bragged. Aleece supposed there was something that could be said about his confidence, he certainly didn't lack it....

When they got into the school proper she gestured for him to lead the way their surroundings looking some what familiar and she made sure to ignore the continued looks they got they started in. Here she was a Knox student practically dwarfed by two...slightly beat up guys, it probably made quite the picture, and caught the interest of those around them. While she didn't know everyone at Fremont, she knew quite a few besides Roth (and now Richard) and she wondered if anyone else she was acquainted with would pop up...it would seem fitting anyways.

There was even quite a few she would possibly recognize from passing, people that she had maybe spoken to once or twice but never actually made an effort to do more then that. Shaking her wondering thoughts back on track she was almost tempted to take a step closer to the guys on her right, not really realizing just how crowded this school was with everyone not in class. She had been lucky the first time she had wondered in and had managed to get by without all the bodies now clogging the hallway.

((ooc - sorry I think I ran out of steam XD I've posted easily up to twenty posts tonight in the last two or so hours between two sites =/))

‘One can say what they want.’ Richard thought to himself, not being all the friendly at the moment, most likely due to the throbbing pain that felt like a cascade of warm water pumping back and forth across his forehead. Still, he kept his thoughts inward, knowing it was just anxiety and pain making him think that way. On the outside he tried his best to look his brightest, a small glimmer in his right eye, a twitch of his lip, that’s all he could do.

When Roth broke through the center he got a flash of gold, finally seeing the championship belt even after having stood just feet away for a few moments. He wasn’t really paying attention to his surroundings, more so drifting in and out of his thoughts as he turned and walked past Roth, following Aleece inside he uttered only a single word, shaking his head at the thought.

“Mhm, eccentric.”

Walking beside Aleece and following Roth seemed a bit strange; he noticed the stares of all the unknown individuals looking at him. The paranoia flowing through his mind was intense; feeling as though everyone he saw looking at him knew he was the new kid in school. His chest was beating faster, causing the blood to hit harder through his skull. It ached, and made him sweat, but he figured it was just some bruises starting to form. A nice cool ice pack would do him good, and thinking about that icepack as he walked beside Aleece made him realize that the swelling was the least of his issues. That’d fade, but what would his father have to say?

It’d probably be something along the lines of how he brought him down her to re-educate him, not turn him into a thug. It seemed he’d have a long and lengthy lecture for him later tonight. But he figured he’d just sit through it, and hopefully it would end with a one-night talking. This only brought up one issue that he thought might hinder his current life, and that was finding a new place to train. If he wasn’t allowed to train then he didn’t know what he’d do. And thus, a small degree of panic was shown smeared across his face as he looked out over the crowd.

Rubbing his only good eye he paused for a moment before moving to keep back up with Aleece and Rosh, hoping to get out the crowds eye and into the nurses office.

(That's more then alright. I've tried to keep writing in character while watching Shawshank Redemption. Tougher then I thought. Took longer too.)

The three new figures now wandered the hall of Fremont High. Two males battered and bloodied, and a small girl trailing with them, From someone else's perspective it would seem as if the two students had fought, and somehow the Knox academy student broke it up. It would be the cause for most of the stares. Luckily for Richard, for those who thought he fought Roth and held his own would assume he was quite the skilled fighter.

Roth looked around as they made their way through the first hall. Many familiar faces were around. He'd give a nod here, wink there, and the occasional high-five. Then slowly he noticed Richard and is miserable face tainted with blood.

"Hey man don't be nervous. Theres as many good guys here as there are bad. Just loosen up and have a good time. Do that and you'll get what I got in my Freshman year back in Boston. The Honorary Sophomore Award."

A wide smile broke though Roth's thin goatee. He knew what being in a new school was like all too well. He found that being a little loud or cocky would get you the real friends. Not the fake friends who hung around you for the hell of it. The people you could appreciate who you were as long as you had good ideals.

Roth then looked to Aleece, who just like him, was looking around at a few familiar faces, nod here, nod there. Then he remembered what Aleece had asked him on the door. He was easily distracted and now stumbled around in his mind to come forward with an answer.

"The Mercenary is only around out of school. That was more of a 'gentleman's duel' because I accidental fucked up that guys test. Long story short: don't sneak your lunch into a classroom, and always watch where your going!"

Roth looked forward to the halls. There were getting there, but not quite there yet. About another hallway or two. Roth didn't know who designed this school, but if he were him the nurse would be right next to the entrance door. Not half backseats across the school next to the art rooms. It was stupid placement, and lacking all common sense, but Roth never really complained...exept for when he was dragging bodies from the fourth floor. That part sucked.

(Great movie right there! I was watching Waiting, the Still Waiting, the ignoring Clerks 2, and then watching Tenacious D)

Aleece had been vaguely aware of Richards discomfort but honestly she was caught up in her own to really take notice, if he didn't think he belonged here looking like he did with a busted lip and swollen eye then...she certainly didn't. Well they really made a trio that was for sure and the way Roth continued to seem unaffected by it all and even passing on a few pearls of wisdom made her lips turn up in a small grin. Her fingers flexed rhythmically around her hand, bunching it in her hands and other wise keeping her eyes ahead of her.

When Roth turned to answer her earlier question she gave him a slightly disbelieving look, but somehow also an indulgent one, "gentleman's duel...huh?"

The fact that all the males here needed a reason to fight was just planted more solidly in her mind and she shook her head faintly as they went. Aleece would have thought by now having associated herself with so many that could fight she would have learned a few more tricks here and there, gotten in better shape to actually hold her own. But that wasn't quite the case, something she was looking to change.

The longer they walked the thinner the crowd got and for that she could appreciate, and it allowed her to relax a bit more as she shot Richard a sideways glance to see if he making out any better. Her worry for being here was just a bit different from his after all, but after she pulled her attention back to their surroundings she noticed then (but not for the first time) how oddly laid out this school was. Aleece supposed they had been lucky to run into senior because the more they walked and didn't seem to be getting anywhere the more she was sure she wouldn't have been able to find where they were supposed to be going.

After passing a few more hallways they finally came to a door with a white placard clearly naming the space as the nurses office, and Aleece waited patiently behind the two in her company patiently as the door was opened, filling in afterward. The place smelled distinctly of sterilizing cleaners, and rubber...something she always found unpleasant be a doctors office, a hospital or...a nurses office. Closing the door behind her she saw that there wasn't hide or hair of the woman (or man) in charge and she turned to Roth with a small grin, "so how's your first aid knowledge?"

((ooc - really hope you don't mind me rushing that along to their destination =/))

‘Have a good time? That’s some pretty bad advice. How am I supposed to have a good time? And what the hell is the Honorary Sophomore Award? Eh, whatever. Where are we? So many turns… Nurse’s office… Guess were here.’

Stepping inside he brushed his fingers back through his short, stubble like hair, looking around for the attending, seeing no one insight except for Roth’s back. Moving across the office he stood off to the side, leaning his back against the counter, making a crease in the back of his pants. Looking back and forth between Aleece and Roth he wondered what their deal was, how they met. They seemed friendly, but not quite good friends – if that made any sense. Looking around the office he excused himself, stepping between the two as he went over to a fridge in the corner. Opening it up he was glad to see an icepack in the freezer, which he greedily pulled out from it’s chilly interior.

Grabbing a nearby chair he sat down, bringing the pack up to his left eye. He immediately breathed a sigh of relief, almost as though it was the most pleasurable experience he had ever felt. The throbbing heat in his forehead began to quell, the stinging sensation of his eye becoming numb. After a few moments of oblivion to the outside world he opened his good eye and looked up at the two standing there. It was as though the world instantly came back to him, but things were already looking brighter. Regardless of his prior thoughts, now he was starting to have a good time. The pain was diminishing, not changing from dark to light, but a soft grey that made everything more then tolerable.

“Roth, gotta tell you.” He paused, adjusting himself in the seat as a smile came across his crack and split lip. “There’s no such thing as a gentlemen’s duel. Sorry.” The smirk lingered for a few moments longer before he coughed and leaned back in the chair.

(ooc: for "flow" purposes I'm going to answer to Richard first)

Well shit. Three people alone in a low budget medical facility, two were pretty fucked up, the other acting as an escort. If awkward had a picture, this would be it. It took a bit for some more conversation to come up, but As soon as the Bostonian looked toward Richard the words spilled out.

"Whatdaya mean by that? Two men with a problem, both with strong beliefs in physical competition, and then have a physical contest to resolve their issue. That fight wasn't for blood. Only for competition, to prove to themselves, and to the spectators around them that one male has dominance over the other. A gentleman's duel may be a nice way to sugar coat it, but it isn't too far from the truth."

The large wrestler puffed out after saying the majority of his mini-rant in one, long breath. Quickly his heart and blood flow regulated to normal as he turned as the sound of Aleece. On nurse, but the two fighters both needed some sort of medication. Roth thought before he spoke (which is a rarity) and then responded with had hard hands running through his soft goatee.

"Well, a lot of this shit is under lock and key. Luckily I'm good at innovation, and if you don't mind, Rich, I can definitely work with what I can get my hands on."

With that said Roth smoothly walked over to the nurses desk and sat on it's edge. After which the Collective senor would bend back opening then lowest metal dented drawr and pull out a 3/4ths full bottle of Jack Daniels. With a simple pluck (not realizing it was a twist cap) Roth took a long whiff of the strong alcohol before taking a quick gulp.

"Uhoa! Thats nice. Well first step is to clean it, Even the smallest cut can get infected pretty bad."

Roth said that while pouring a small bit into a small plastic cup from the same location. With a smile of clenched teeth Roth quickly poured it onto his fucked over face. The two others could no doubt hear the hissing of the alcohol and the seething of Roth's teeth. With a mix of a smile and a face of pain Roth continued the procedure.

Using a napkin from the same place Roth quickly, yet smoothly removed the excess alcohol and decaying strands of skin and blood. Roth quickly shook his head wildly making a small low toned noise followed by a kick back of his head, sending his long hair all th way backward. He then looked to his two friends.

"Your turn Richy-boy, and then you Aleece if your up to it."

Roth then hopped off the desk, handing the bottle in Richards direction. He could only assume that Richards face would be filled with mixed emotions. It was ironic that Whiskey was open, and rubbing alcohol was under wraps, but Roth knew this nurse. To her it was the simple equation of Alcohol > Her job.

Aleece took a few more steps into the room shaking her head at Roth's reply at what a gentleman's due was exactly but..."I think I'll go ahead and side with Richard on that one, Roth."

Even if she said it she smiled a bit, walking to the locked cabinets to find them indeed...locked. Pressing her lips together she saw that the new kid had gotten an icepack for his face and that the dark haired wrestler had...found a bottle of liquor? Turning half way around she crossed her arms as she watched him take a large gulp of it and before she could say anything he had poured some in a cup then over his face.

She made a small noise in disapproval and held up a hand to deny the offer of the drink. Aleece had had her hand in trying the Irish Bailey's Cream with Hicks once...it was enough to let her know for certain she wasn't fan of drinking anything that didn't come with the label of spring water or carbonated. With a few steps she walked over to the desk and placed her hat down seeing the jars of regular single packed antibiotics and q-tips.

Well if the nurse wasn't here then she would just go ahead and be of some use. Picking off the metal lid she reached for enough supplies to do the job and made her way over to Richard who looked to be doing much better. "Well I don't have much experience in home heath care," she said lightly holding the things up for him to see, "but I certainly won't be dumping alcohol on your face."

She figured this would be much more comfortable of a way to get any cuts clean of infection, and wouldn't leaving you smelling like he had taken a bath in whiskey. Either way now that the both of them were presenting an option to him she waited to see which one he'd choose...hopefully it would be just to drink the liquor and let her clean his face up with the antibiotic cream, but God if she would ever figure out the male mind...

Richard smirked at Roth, reply to retort with his own theory, but Aleece said more then enough to turn the tides. Two against one, and the favour went to the Freshmen-Knox School combo. Shifting the ice pack on his forehead he brought it down closer to his eye, massaging it around in a slow, small circle. When he was enclosed by the two make-shirt intern nurses he knew right away which one he was going to chose. Leaning forward towards Roth he pushed the bottle of Whiskey to the side, back over towards the nurse’s desk, then turned to Aleece.

“Roth, I’m fifteen.” He paused for a moment, realizing like how much of a goodie-goodie he sounded, but added in a second piece of info. “And it hinders my training.” Turning to Aleece he smiled, then dabbed his lip with her handkerchief to remove the excess blood. “I’m sure you’ll do just fine.” Lowering the icepack he sat patiently, trying to be the best patient he could.

He couldn’t help but wonder where the nurse was, and why her office was so small given the fact that this was a corporal punishment school. It didn’t make sense for it to be all hidden away by classrooms and hallways, and the way this room was set up it seemed more like an office combined with a storage closet. He didn’t even see a cot for students to lie down on, which definitely didn’t follow the normal prowess of a infirmary. Looking up at Aleece, through one and a half open eyes, her brown slowly furrowed, showing his mind of ‘deep thought’. Peeking to the side he looked at Roth, deciding to ask another question.

“Are you sure this is the only nurses office? It doesn’t seem accommodating for a school of this size.” Looking back at Aleece he tried his best to relax and stay still, leaning forward slightly and tilting his head back to give her some better light and closer look.

Roth laughed as Richard pushed away the Daniels and took care from Aleece. Smart choice. Roth knew his method was pretty idiotic compared to alternative methods, but thats what made Roth the stupid, arrogant, cocky, fan as hell bastard that he was.

"Well suit yourself."

Roth took another swig from the squared bottle before capping it and putting it inside one of his many makeshift trench coat pockets. It probably looked REALLY bad, but it wasn't entirely. Sure his Irish blood line told everyone he should be a drunk, but would only drink a small amount on special occasions. That or when he really just needed to loosen his grip on reality. Today was the month anniversary of his sisters' death.

"Well, this is the only Nurses office in this building. I'm sure Knox has a good one, as does O'Hare, but in the Courtyard theres a main medical building that is really sustained and maintained. Theres plans for revamping this one, but it's pretty doubtful."

Roth sat on his desk watching Aleece acting pretty motherly to their younger friend. It reminded him of his mother and the way she would treat him and his sisters. A good memory, but still painful to think of Rita's face. With a quick snap and a smile on his face Roth looked to the two once the 'procedure was over.

"So, we all got a few hours to kick around. If you guys are up to it I'm game for anything. Though I gotta go to my locker real quick, ..er...books and what not."

The first part was the truth. He would never object to possibly making a new friend, or hanging out with an older one. The possibilities were endless. Hanging at the school, going over to Jesse's Bar and Grille (like him and Aleece had done before), or even what Roth would call a 'gentleman's duel'.

(ooc: eh, a wee bit short. Take this where ever you want it to go.)

When Richard declined Roth, Aleece smothered a grin as she stepped up to the guy sitting down. It was probably for the better, she was painstakingly shorter then either of them, so it wasn't to much of an effort to take care of his face in this position. Shifting everything in her hands she was able to open one of the small packets and squeeze it onto the cotton end of one of the long q-tips, smearing it on the end a little before she leaned in as well.

Aleece shifted a little uncomfortably but didn't make an attempt to get any closer - she had a bit of an issue with invading personal spaces. But she was glad Richard seemed to be sitting still and even helping her out by tipping his head at a slightly different angle. Dabbing the cut on his lip she moved on to the rest of his face, and pulling a slightly pained look...seeing as how all the cleaning solvents for cuts were locked up tight she wasn't able to do that but at least with this antibiotic cream it would keep any further infection from getting in there and spreading.

She figured it couldn’t hurt for today to just get by with this…lifting her free hand she grasped his chin lightly between her thumb and pointer finger turning his head a little to the side to treat the small cut over his right eye. For that at least she could a band – aid, and she did – stepping away back to the supplies and hunting for a butterfly bandage, finally finding some in the mix of several other sizes.

At hearing the quick exchange between Richard and Roth, and then Knox brought into it she nodded with a slight shrug to confirm that they did in fact have an infirmary, though she couldn’t say honestly if it was much bigger then here. “I wouldn’t know about Knox’s nurses office,” she muttered as she pulled the paper away from the small brown band-aid and wrestled with it for a minute to get a good grip on it.

Aleece stuck it on Richard with perhaps a little finesse then she could have, but she sent a small apologetic smile his way for it, “I’ve never been there to tell you for sure what its like. You see…I’m kind of a good student. I don’t fight and I don’t get in trouble…so there’s no reason for me to be in the nurses office, generally.”

Well…that last bit was debatable. She was pretty sure she was a magnet for trouble. Straightening she took a step back, running a critical eye over her handy work before turning to Roth. Hearing his suggestion of continuing to hang out did sound appealing, but, “I got…some things, that need to be taken care of…”

This was the first day she would be going back to class since – well…needless to say she did have quite a bit to catch up on.

When he was told that this was the only nurse’s office in this building he mentally tried to pull up the map of Fremont campus, wondering what other buildings he could find a infirmary in. Perhaps it was just pour building design, but then why wasn’t the nurse here? Out to lunch? Possibly. But it seemed more likely she’d be nursing the bottle of jack if she had the choice, so she was either in a meeting with the headmaster, or working in another building. Most likely your going to get injured doing sports in daily school life. Blood noses and scrapped knees could more easily be found in the Varsity building.

Pushing his lip out he felt a stinging sensation, making his lip twitch as his eyes settled back from his thoughts and the blank silence of the room as his face was treated. Wiping off the excess cream on his lip he smirked, yet no blood filled into his mouth. It tasted different, but seemed to work just the same as Vaseline for covering up cuts. When his face was turned to the side he looked at her through the corner of his eyes before rolling them back and forth, wondering what and if he should do anything while being treated.

“So, you’re a good girl?” Richard asked with a small smirk as he lifted his hand up and rubbed it over the band-aid. It felt smooth and rather flush with his skin, which meant more of less it’d be less noticeable then a pile of skin coloured adhesive. “Better you taking care of me then the champ here.” As Aleece turned to Roth he stood up, bringing the cool relief back up to his eye as he looked a little better kept now that he was cleaned up.

“I would Roth, but I was sent here to actually do better in school, no play hooky on my first day.” Again, he couldn’t believe how lame he was sounding, mostly to himself. Back in the valley he wouldn’t care about playing hooky, though he was still against drinking and other forms of inebriation. “Sorry man, I gotta pass.”

He couldn't help but laugh a bit. The large Boston warrior made a small chuckle and then a good long sigh. If there was one thing Roth had in his brain besides a random story or bit of information, it was an internal clock and sense of direction. He never really looked to the sun for direction, just went with his gut and was right, the same was true for time.

"Well I hate to say it, but classes are just about over. In fact if a can time this....riightt........five...four, three......tw-"

Half way through two the loud echoing end of the day bell rang throughout the Collective. Classes were now over for the day, and Roth (for once in his life) seemed to be a step ahead of those around him. With a quick jum,p Roth got up from the cool metal desk and slowly walked over to Aleece and Richard. The same warm friendly smile on his face as from before.

"Well shit, it beat me to it. So I believe you two just received a load of free time. So, of ya want, offer is on the table."

With no more then a slight nod of his scratched up and bruised head Roth headed for the door. His baggy black jeans brushed past each other as his large scarred hand made a slow lunge for the door. There was another smile given from Roth to the two.

*BAM*

"FUCK'IN BITCH!"

Roth face was already covered in swelling bruises. Now the set was compete with a new large lump corroding from his forehead after bashing it against the reinforced wooden door. Roth jumped back almost hitting Aleece while holding his head mumbling curses to himself as a small (smaller than Aleece) pudgy old woman in a pair of dark blue scrubs burst through the door. It only took a second, but by the time she entered the room the absent nurse fell right to the floor with a brown paper bag in one hand and Whiskey bottle in the other.

"Fuck...well, nothing we can really do for that. If ya have nothing better to do follow me and I'm sure something interesting will be sure to follow."
