To whom it may concern:
Thanks for the ride.
-Message left during Jesus' first car theft.

"So this is Chula Vista." Jesus told himself as he lightly sat on the hood of his car, a white 2008 Ford Mustang with crimson stripes, looking down on the city from a panoramic viewpoint, the Mexican border barely noticeable in the lost horizon. He took a deep breath. His superiors had high expectations of him, demanding results within the first two months. As he thought about it, he smiled. Deadlines always brought out the best in him.

"This is it, hermano." A lightly-accented voice said from behind. Jesus turned around to face its origin. It was Raul, one of his companions from their younger days. He was a short, stocky man, wearing torn jeans and a wife-beater. He had come to bid his friend farewell. A firm shaking of the hand and a pat on the back was the formal salute among fellow members. That being done, the shorter Mexican-American spoke up. "You think you'll be okay by yourself?"

"No, Raul." Jesus quickly replied, his lips curling up, a sign of confidence. "But then I'm not counting on being alone for long." That being said, he stepped into the driver's seat, preparing to leave the belvedere.

"In any case, take care bro." Raul said, tapping on the roof of Jesus' car. "And don't forget, the Bros always got your back." Jesus nodded and pressed on the gas pedal, quickly getting on the highway, a fifteen-minute drive away from his destination.

Jesus was in no hurry, so he respected the speed limit on the highway. He knew that many opportunities to let his adrenaline loose were waiting for him in Chula Vista. He didn't know that one was about to hit him right... about... now!

"Que?"

Jesus blurted out in surprise as his driver side rear view mirror flew off his car and into oblivion just as a speeding vehicle burst past him. It took him two seconds to absorb what was going on. And when he understood what just happened, well...

"HIJO DE PUTA!"

And off he went, pressing the pedal down to the bloody metal, chasing after whoever it was that wrecked his dear car.

There was a good reason Luli Johnston was doing a good ninety miles per hour on the highway - driving like her heels were on fire and her ass was catching; the cherry red 1968 Chevy Camaro SS she was driving, just happened to be stolen. Not exactly her most brilliant of ideas thus far in life, stealing a classic muscle car like this off the side of the road in the middle of broad daylight. However...

...there was a reason. So she knew a guy that knew a guy that needed to have a car er...repossessed. Someone owed him money (lots of it) and he wasn't paying up, so her name (along with Rudie's) had been thrown up in the air, but she wasn't doing charity work here. Luli was getting a nice chunk of pocket change for this, and even more if she could get it back to the garage without a scra-

With a cringe and a curse, Luli could practically hear the snipping sound of the amount of money getting cut out of her share. There was probably going to be a scratch and similar small damage that she couldn't see now from when she clipped that car just now. Well didn't that suck...

Glancing in her rear view her eyebrows shot up in mild surprise, somewhere past the settling buzz of adrenaline from having stolen the car in the first place built back up another wave of thrumming excitement. The car she had more or less accidentally damaged was speeding right up behind her. Quickly her eyes shot down to the speedometer and noticed the needle was pushing ninety-four now.

Slowly the corners of her lips curled up and she slowed taking it down to about eighty - five, giving the car a chance to catch up, of course it was pretty, new and probably very fast…and the driver was probably very pissed off. Lifting a hand from the steering wheel she pushed her hair over her shoulder as she switched lanes, cutting in front of a car to pass one that was going to slow in front of her - the hum of her tires whined easily, mixing with the sound of the engine being pushed, as she did.

Luli waited, until the white Mustang was right there with her before she glanced over briefly, but long to catch a glimpse of the guy in the car before she sped back up edging over to the right once more time into the furthest lane she could. The exit for Chula Vista was coming up and she needed to take it before she pushed her luck to far.

She wondered, as she sped back up, with a small amused laugh, if he was going to actually try and keep up with her.

-He's getting away! Raul shouted.
-He's running into a dead end, Jesus replied.

Ever heard of that expression, 'killing intent'? Yeah, Jesus was overloading on it. The guy's face was red like the devil's as he caught up with the perpetrator's vehicle. Just as their cars came to level, side by side, Jesus looked at his target; then his mouth started foaming. The driver was a female, therefore it was not the son of a whore, as Jesus stated a couple of seconds ago, but the daughter of one: same difference. Couple that with the fact that the young man spotted the illusion of an arrogant smirk on her face, and you had one potentially homicidal Latino behind the wheel. Then the young man corrected himself on his inaccurate statement as the lass sped past him once more.

"PUTAPUTAPUTAPUTAPUTA!"

Tourette's syndrome? This young man was a potential candidate for such a diagnosis. The frequent use of profanity on his behalf aside, Jesus had some payback on his mind, so he had no intention of letting the girl slip away. A demented grin appeared on his face as he reached in his coat's pocket and pulled out his partner in crime, his custom-made PPC revolver. Things were about to heat up a notch.

You know how professional drivers have awesome skills when it comes to doing ridiculous stunts with cars and all other sorts of motorized vehicles? Well that's because they manage to keep their cool because they are aware that their skills allow them to control the car as if it were the extension of their hand. Control is the key word here, because a driver doesn't have much control over a crazed gun-toting maniac chasing him down with the single intention of filling up his vehicle - to be more specific, the tires - with a few ounces of lead.

So as the lady burst forward with her dated car, Jesus tightened the gap between them while pressing down on the window control button with the gun's barrel. Cocking, he crept up from the girl's right side - not willing to risk going from the left since his rear-view mirror happened to be busted - and aimed for the vehicle as a whole, still smiling as if he was about to enjoy a quality slice of New York cheese cake.

He pulled the trigger.

Once.

The girl's vehicle was damaged.

He was cackling.

Luli wasn't usually one to really think about the consequences about her actions or what kind of tolls they would take on her personally when shit went down. She certainly never figured the guy behind her was a Mexican gangster or that he was packing at the moment...she really wouldn't have pegged him to be that good of a shot, since they were going around ninety miles an hour. He must have been championship material, since that was the case.

It took a lot not to jerk at the sound of the gun cracking, just once, but it was enough to jostle her, her grip to tighten. She could feel her back end fishtailing from the sudden blow out, and the fact she was going as fast she was making for her to lose a little control. But she had been behind the wheel of a car since she could see over a steering wheel. The sound of her other three good tired screeched against the pavement, no longer riding over the ground with ease, and she fought over the urge to slam on the breaks.

Gritting her teeth, but not letting her small smirk fall short - but this time the expression not exactly cocky - more like pissed, Luli somehow managed to keep in her lane before cutting over to the shoulder short of the exit. Easing to a stop, it felt like the car literally limped. Looked like her luck was up; unfortunate on her part but not totally unsalvageable, she hoped. Idling on the side of road, a light smoke trailing up from the back tire, she managed to sink back into her seat and let out a breath to calm herself down.

But if anything Luli Johnston was an adrenaline junky so the entire thing made her laugh, lowly...the sound a bit husky. Reaching down for the cup holder a moment later she picked up her cell and contemplated doing one of two things; one was making a call to Markus her...friend, the other was a text to Colin. Going with the latter she texted her slightly neurotic boyfriend before tossing the phone into the passenger seat when it sent.

The message was short and to the point - ran into some trouble stranded, bring a spare - along with her location she was sure that he would get the point of what her running into trouble would mean.

If the crazy bastard had shot out a tire she didn't think he would stop short of turning that gun on her. Of course Luli didn't exactly heed warning bells when they blared in her head to show some common sense so she looked out the window, checking for traffic, before gripping the handle and pushing the door open, since she had no key...she left it running. She didn’t know if whoever it was that she had come to have the run in with had pulled up, but she had stayed in the car long enough for that to happen - the first thing he would see, would be (if he was indeed there and out of the car) one heel covered foot attached to a long slim tanned leg, as she stepped out.

Standing up out of the low car, Luli gripped the door to haul herself up smoothly, her back still turned away from the damage done to her car, taking the time to pull at the end of her shorts then pushing the long dark curtain of hair of her face as she straightened the graphic tank. Not bothering to take off her sunglasses, Luli finally turned and trailed a hand over the side of the red painted car as she headed to the back and rounded it to look at the right tire...in shreds only to sigh at the damage before turning her attention to the guy…

((ooc – if its believable he managed to blow out her tire, its believable she managed to not crash XD))

Colin couldn't believe the way things had gone over the past few hours. He only had his car because he had sent it to a shop because it needed some work done, and he didn't have the time to do it because he had to get back to a passing grade in the classes he gave a shit about. And if that wasn't enough of a pain in the ass, Luli decided while the school was in lock down mode that she would go and get herself into some kind of trouble that had to do with a spare tire, and since it wasn't his car, that means she went and stole one again.

I'm going to turn that girls ass red when I get my hands on her. He growled as he jogged down the street from the part-time job he grabbed until he could get them back into free boarding, and a regular class schedule. When he got to the garage he knew the work wasn't quite done yet, but he knew enough about his car that he could get it to the destination and back, with a spare he threw in his trunk with an IOU floating out of his lips, and peeled out of the garage.

Colin only hoped that she didn't get caught by the police before he got there, slammed on a spare tire, and got the fucking car back to wherever she picked it up. Driving as recklessly as he dared Colin was making good time, weaving through traffic and driving just above the speed limit, leaving him to think he would make it just within ten minutes, assuming that he didn't show up with white and blue lights flashing he would probably make it on time.

OOC- Short post, but meh, I'm tired and had a text message to work off of.

-Dearest of beauties, meet the meanest of beasts.
Jesus, before beating the crap out of the 'Queen of San Fran' (Drag queen gangster)

Jesus was finding pleasure in this little violent interaction. Twenty seconds in and Chula Vista was already delivering, guns blazing. Realizing that he had forced his target to come to a halt, Jesus brought his Mustang to the side of the road, stopping it a dozen yards ahead of the girl's. Stopping his vehicle's engine, he put his key in his pocket and pulled out a .45 caliber bullet out of it, placing it in the recently emptied chamber of his revolver. Making the wheel of his gun spin, he treated himself to the clicking sound that his weapon made before hiding inside his coat. Opening the door, the lanky Mexican stepped out of the car, turned to face the immobilized car.

He flashed a hungry smirk as he approached the young woman. From his distance, he immediately recognized that she wasn't lacking in the looks department one bit. His twisted rage at one hundred miles per hour didn't exactly give him time to focus on the girl's appearance when they were driving side by side moments earlier. The young man was half-expecting the girl to be prepared for the worst, confident that he had established where each of them stood in this whole affair: he would order, she would obey.

When the distance between the two was no more than three yards, Jesus stood still for a moment, taking a moment to look straight in the girl's eyes before gazing over the damage that was done to her vehicle. That being done, he opened his mouth, speaking English with a California accent that appeared to be unblemished by his Hispanic heritage.

"Let's talk reparations."

He extended his arm.

"Your wallet."

OOC- Short post, meh. But then, I'm an RPer, not a novelist.

When she looked up, the guy that was coming toward her wasn’t exactly what she expected, and while he decided to assert some kind of subtle male dominance (something she was completely used to with Colin) she did the next thing her instincts naturally wanted to…she checked him out. Not half bad, if you were into the hard core, I’ll kill you for looking at me wrong, gangster kind of way. Eh, not really her type, but she was a sucker for a genuine bad ass…

The only thing that made her want to be cautious was the fact that Colin was on his way now, and this guy was carrying a gun. Despite those little pills he was taking didn’t mean he wouldn’t or couldn’t lose his temper where she was concerned. (She’d proven plenty of times to push his buttons in certain situations. Luli just hoped this guy didn’t help her do that when he arrived.)

She couldn’t help but breath out a laugh when he held out his hand and demanded her wallet in payment for the broken side mirror. Moving her hands from her slim hips to hold them up palm first she cocked her head to the side. “Sorry…don’t have it on me,” she informed moving one hand to push up her sunglasses and letting the other fall back down to her waist.

“Tell you what though…” she started, trying to keep her tone as even and placating as possible. After all, she was a little attached to life and she was sure that gun…was on him, just a feeling she got. Taking a few steps closer she glanced past him and to his mustang, spotting the damage quite easily. “I was just on a way to friends garage, and I am sure we can get this worked out there. What d’you say?”

He was free to look in the car for any sort of ID or money, but she really didn’t have any on her, never did when she did this sort of thing. That would be about universally stupid of her. “Someone is on the way to change my tire right now, and then you can follow me there.”

Luli wanted him to know that someone knew where she was at so that he would think twice about doing something rash or stupid to her, especially on the side of a major road way. Hopefully there was some sort of workable gray matter in between his ears, however…this was Chula Vista. She was hardly surprised at what people would do now a days. It wasn't to long ago she heard rumor floating around at the collective that some girl had gotten raped, and found on school grounds. Now if that wasn't something.

Point being there was just no telling what some people would do.

"Beauty and brains? I thought you said that never happened," Jesus noted.
"I said it
rarely happened," replied the Middle Eastern man, visibly flustered.

"You're not dumb," Jesus stated, stroking his chin, "and you're not a blonde." It took him a moment to do the association between the lack of ID and the car not being the girl's. She was a car thief. One that was reckless and unlucky enough to cross paths with the last person you want to antagonize while you flee with your prize, as she had quickly learned. A fellow criminal, through brotherhood amongst bandits was simply a matter of business going good for more than three days. He looked at the damage on the vehicle once more and grunted. Whatever the sum promised for this car was, she'd be seeing a fraction of it now. Some people had to learn from their mistakes, this girl was going to have a lesson tonight.

"Though you're not the most brilliant car thief I've met, either."

He pressed his hand on the car's hood, testing its resistance. Content with the feeling, he pressed his behind against it, making himself comfortable as he took a moment to evaluate the young woman's offer. After a couple of seconds, there was a satisfied smile on his face.

"If you let me in one the action, then you've got yourself a deal."

When her day had started off, Luli hadn't expected to have run into any trouble, but she liked to think that her circumstances changed willfully with every step she took. But to think she would be standing here waiting on the side of a road for Colin and with a stolen car at that...she couldn't actually say it was far fetched. However, while the situation wasn't as bad as it could be didn't mean it couldn't go south at any second, and when he made himself comfortable on the hood of her car, she moved to lean against the passenger side, away from the road as she could get.

Getting past all that, the fact he said she wasn't dumb or blond...but not exactly a smart cookie for running into trouble to begin with in her situation, Luli laughed. "I don't exactly do this for a living..."

Though his next words caught her attention fully. Wanted in on what she was doing? Personally she didn't have a problem with that (her boyfriend...might)...she was used to doing this with Rudie anyways, but her drugged out friend was a little to baked at the moment to trust - no matter how reckless she was being at the moment. Not really worried about being caught or pulled over Luli looked much to relaxed.

She didn't exactly do this for the money, however nice it was, she did it for the adrenaline - the chance to drive a fast car and get away with it. "Sure, why not," she said finally answering him, a small smirk pulling at her lips, but not taking enough time to consider it. "This sort of thing is usually more fun with someone else, right?."

Not really concerned with how the car arrived in the first place seeing as how it was probably going to be chopped up anyways, the damage to her vehicle was of little consequence. Nonetheless as she took the chance to look around she wondered what was taking Colin so long, even she got that it probably wasn't good to linger in what looked to be like an accident. People had the tendency to call for help on their cell phones, either from concern or just being nosy.

Drawing her attention back to the guy waiting with her, Luli took the time to really get a good look at him, his posture how he was holding himself - and while she couldn't claim to know every face that passed through Chula Vista she was acquainted quite well with the locals. Lifting a hand she pressed her fingers through her dark brown hair, catching her sunglasses and pulling them off her head as she did. "You from around here?" It was a general question and while she thought she knew the answer there was no sure fire way of being sure.

Colin had no idea what kind of car Luli stole this time around, but he sure as hell did know when he spotted her on the side of the road leaning against it. With all the years he spent with her he would have to be trying to nott to spot her at any given time. And this was no exception.

With a grunt he slammed on his breaks, his tires squealing in anger as guided the skidding car just past the one Luli had stolen, and pulled to a stop a few yards past it on the side of the road. Anger was etched on every inch of his body, muscles flexed, jaw tense, eyes dark with anger, he threw open the car door and slammed it behind him.

Wearing his traditional ensemble of a light gray muscle shirt, specked with grease and oil, and faded jeans that looked like they took more of a beating then his shirt, he looked like the typical all American type that was a little too much muscle and not enough brain. The image was one he didn't mind taking advantage of when he needed to intimidate someone.

And of course to complete it he stormed his way across the pavement at such a ferocious pace, his eyes fixed so intently on Luli, that one may think he was going to walk up and slap her across the face for being such a stupid bitch. Of course that wouldn't be far off, but he was more restrained then that, if only because of those pills that were built to dampen his anger.

When he was in front of her he reached out and pushed his calloused hand over her forehead, down the back of her neck, where he grabbed a fistful of her dark smooth hair and pulled back sharply as he ducked his head so he was staring directly own at her eyes with an anger he hadn't in some time.

"You better having a fucking good excuse for this."

"I'd hit that," said Jesus as a popping sound came out of his neck.
"Literally, bro?" asked his friend, obviously concerned.

So the girl had probably caught onto the fact that Jesus wasn't one of Chula Vista's locals. Not exactly a big deal by his standards, he had bigger concerns than some crazy car thief knowing he was from out of town. As he was about to open his mouth to answer, the girl's help appeared on scene, parking his car on the side of the road between the girl's and Jesus'.

And then shit hit the proverbial fan.

Stamping towards the two, the young man did a gesture that made both of Jesus' eyebrows jump. This wasn't the first time he saw a guy get violent with his girl. To be honest, he usually wouldn't get surprised by this type of behavior. Hell, he pretty much bathed in it. The problem in this particular situation was that, well, it was going on in the middle of the fucking highway.

Obviously displeased with the current turn of events, Jesus voiced his opinion as he pushed himself off the car and slowly headed back to his own vehicle.

"About domestic violence," he paused, "keep it domestic kids." Turning around one last time before pulling his door open, he gave some additional advice. "Let's head to the garage before the cops get here."

It didn’t take long for Colin to get there like she reckoned it would, he knew her to well to think the best. Luli watched, turning her head when she heard the angry squeal of tires making his car come to a stop, and his even more livid form getting out of it. The look on his face back her back stiffen with caution – the easy going expression slowly melting off her face as he practically marched toward her with storm clouds hanging over his head. One eyebrow quirked up subtly as she kept her eye on him, not worried about the extra for an audience.

There was a split second she thought Colin just might slap her silly, but he had yet to raise a hand to her – that incident a while back aside…but he didn’t instead grabbed her hair and yanked her head back, making her grimace sharply. Luli hadn’t seen her boyfriend like this is quite sometime and instead of going for placating she seemed to just feed of his mood, which was obviously some kind of seriously pissed off.

With heavily lidded eyes she met his darkened eyes, her top lip twitching a bit before smoothing into a small grin. “What’s the matter, baby? You can’t honestly find this…surprising.”

Luli, if anyone knew her well enough, would think she was on a rather self-destructive path with reckless choices she insisted on making. She pushed and pulled but hardly ever gave an inch; it was no wonder Colin was driven to the edge with her. “Now, mind letting me the fuck go?”

Oh who the hell was she kidding, it was kind of hot. Thanks to one little incident and that crutch of a drug he popped to keep himself in check things between them had dwindled, so some sort of reaction other then brooding was a step up for Colin. “I’ve got some business to take care of, and I’m sure we don’t need one more thing on the record.”

It really wasn’t about her choice to steal a car for this guy, Markus, or further more her decision to probably go right back out and do it again, with Don Juan over there. No, she was doing what she wanted to. Luli didn't even look over to the guy as he added his two cents in but she did raise her eyebrow as if asking 'are we really going to get into this now'.
