He has, in fact, emailed the Director about the fact they're about to talk to him. And that he doesn't trust this guy one bit despite what his memories say; he did his reading, and Kieran's a known spy and assassin!
"See, the thing is, I want to make a deal with you guys. A little bit of helping us both out. Your crew helps me take Belarus, and I'll give you all the information you could ever need on the Chthonic Empire."
"Because Belarus has already been taken by the Empire, and by taking the border country I'm already stationed in, you no longer have to worry about having to push through the Empire's front lines."
"And you expect us to, what, conquer an entire country without anybody noticing Paradigm is there? Or your bosses noticing your little coup d'etat?"
There are probably forces massed on every border with the Empire anyway. The free peoples of the world would want to be ready when the cease fire inevitably broke down, he figures.
"What's your angle in all this? You can't tell me you really want to risk shattering the peace treaty so you can lord over one little country in Eastern Europe."
"Excuse me," she said, offering what could almost be considered a glare towards Aaron. "But you say 'take over.' What exactly do you mean by that?"
It wasn't as if she couldn't just take the information she wanted, but with her attention focused on Kieran, she seemed content to let him speak for himself.
"Oh no. They'll notice after I take over, but at that point, it's too late. I'll have earned that leadership position legitimately."
He turns towards Evie, and his smile widens even more.
"There's a rule in the Empire. If you fight your superior in an official duel, you can take his place if you win. The issue, however, is that the leader of Belarus has a few supporters that watch his back, and who would interfere in that very duel. I would deal with them myself, but doing that outside of an official duel would basically end up invalidating anything I do other than ensuring I get killed."
Kieran shrugs a little.
"But... if someone outside of the Empire were to take care of those supporters, I'd have a free shot at him."
"What does taking over this position mean, though?" She asked, sounding genuinely curious. She even began to slowly stand up from her crouched position, walking over to the glass of his cell.
"To you."

"And it's not exactly a fair duel if he has his friends gang up on you, is it?"
Aaron watches as Evie steps towards the glass, just in case anything tricky happens. When you're talking to a spy, nothing is as it seems. For now, Aaron is willing to humour him, even though the idea turns his stomach a little.
Evie closed her eyes as Silas spoke, her fingers curling into a little fist. She was so far done with all of these people talking about foolish things instead of figuring things out.
She rubbed her forehead slightly. Silas had taken control of part of the mission while they were on the field, so she was sure nothing she said mattered anymore.
Smiling at Kieran, she turned away from the cell, walking back to her place and sitting down, pulling her knees back up to her chest and leaning back against the wall.
Though some of his requests were sound, Evie seemed to be getting somewhere, and it really wasn't Silas' call to make. Sure, Aaron is playing bad cop a little, but they can't just jump in with this. He'd give Evie a bit of a nod that he hopes is encouraging, and wait for Kieran's response.
Kieran is cut off by Silas' arrival, and he shakes his head slowly, almost in disbelief.
"I'll show you how they work once I'm free. As far as strategy goes, it's actually somewhat simple. I'll smuggle a team of yours into Belarus with me, show them exactly where those operatives are that would interfere in the duel, then challenge Donnelly myself. Once I have Belarus, I can give you all the information you'll want."
The fact that he technically gave mothing, except the maybe - name of somebody in the Empire... a person they might already know... did not escape her attention. There was a moment of absolute disapproval as she looker at Silas, cocking a brow in challenge.
She wouldn't get anything out of him now that he thought he had a deal. Anything else she offered him would just be relaxed.
"I'm right about everything." Silas glares at Aaron. These two were wasting time and were actually doing more harm than good here as they got off topic--in his mind at least.
