"Not for long. I'm grabbing some things before I go out."
If she peeked at his desk she would see an item that wasn't normally on the desk laying there among what looked like some reports, the cracked picture frame of him and his daughter.
"What did you need?"
He'd demand again, turning around, his eyes moving to the box and then back to her.
He presses his lips together unsure of what to think about this. He'd slowly take the box but his eyes would move to her, silently demanding an explanation.
"It was for a few years ago, to be honest. But obviously..." she trails off before shaking her head.
"None of the years after that felt like a good time. And then with you away I was like, hey, why not now? I mean you're the only person I can give it to, y'know? So it's for both of you I guess?"
She shrugs again, unsure how he'd take it so she's a little tense.
Jan Di can't help but laugh at the story. Grinch was more appropriate than she initially thought.
Her smile softens a bit however.
"I'm glad. And I mean, what was I supposed to do with it? I'd feel like a dick throwing it away or giving it to someone else. I got it with her in mind and all that."
"I taught a guy to free-run and parkour, I coached a girl in her sparring, I assisted some agents on their boost intel-gathering and showed them the Vault."
"Good. Because I'm not always going to be around to push you, and I want to make sure when that day comes these kids are not left up the creek without a paddle."
