Flip. Fredegund turns the page to her textbook before putting another rabbit sticker onto her newest companion, simply referred to as Gun for the time being. A companion acquired from careful negotiation with Silas, whom found the standard issue rifle from the Chthonic Empire. Said Gun, who's only once been referred to a Rooty-Tooty Point 'n' Shooty, is adorned with stickers of kittens made of bread, plump bunnies, and fat sheep. To help set it/him apart from other rifles Fred may encounter in the future, she reasoned.
The gun sits on Fred's lap as she wonders how on earth is she going to keep this gun happy enough to augment its abilities, as promised. She looks around from the grassy hill she's seated on. She can't imagine when she'll get the opportunity to use it on someone. She can't just open fire on random classmates, agents, and peers. She's not sure if she should just carry the gun everywhere in case of a serendipitous occasion. Would this rifle work on robots if she brought it into the Tutorial? She sighs... Unlike the fossil in her pocket, who was happy enough to simply speak its mind when the time felt right, the gun had a purpose to fulfill, much like how a pet would have needs.
"It's easy to clean off sticker adhesive, but how would I identify you then? How am I supposed to tie a ribbon onto you? What if another rifle has your voice?"
She lifts the rifle and looks under and around it.
Such a tiny scratch. She bets other guns have similar scratches.
"Now now... No need to shout. I simply haven't been with you long enough to know you inside and out. I don't think you can work on robots... Otherwise, I'd gladly take you out to shoot those."
"I'm Fredegund. Pleased to meet you, Dan. Sorry for making you uncomfortable. I'm trying to figure out how to help this gun fulfill its purpose. He's been feeling depressed."
If Gun knew enough history to know who Fredegund was named after... Oh Gun.
She looks back down at the rifle. The adorable-sticker-clad rifle.
"So apparently, you CAN be effective on the robots in the Tutorial?"
"It's French enough. Most plants, animals, and objects keep to themselves, so I just let them know I can talk to them, then they talk to me. I usually start with a hello or a how do you do. I even spoke to a ghost once. Just once though."
Looks like she'll be checking out the Tutorial and the 2nd setting later then.
"How do you....uh...this is going to sound thick headed but how do you fight with this? I mean, I've got scars from my first week here and my ability-"
