Police already have the area blocked off. The school was surrounded and a barracade was established. It had been all over the news, an Elementary school held hostage by terrorists demanding the Mayor and Governor surrender themselves to them. Both offices have refused to comment. The mood outside was tense as a crowd watched on and the Press vied for the best coverage.
Hostages...just kids. This wasn't good. Dan was out with the crowd- he was just a student, right? He...shouldn't get involved, should he? This was the job of the police or...or agents.
He would look around to see if anyone else went in.
Aaron arrives at the police blockade, pale, shaking a little. Quite frankly, looking like he's going to be sick. Caught somewhere between brain freezing, gut-clenching terror, absolute horror that anyone would even think to do this, and rage. There's a part of him that wants to take whomever's responsible for this by the neck and twist. Father's influence, probably.
Press are there, terrorists are probably watching. The world probably is. Get the fear off your face, Aaron. Composure. He takes a breath and tries to force himself to be calm, walking up to any officer that looks like they're in charge of this situation.
Look like you're not a sixteen year old junior agent out of your depth.
"Officer? Aaron Silverman, Paradigm. What're we looking at? Any luck with negotiations?"
He knew the basics, but he hadn't been here for the start. Maybe the police knew how many they were dealing with, any headway they'd made.
Miranda is also there, listening to the cop Aaron's talking to as she glances occasionally to the school. Her stomach does little flips every time she thinks about it; it's like the hospital all over again. This time, though, she refuses to accept that much death. They had to be able to do something.
She glances around to see if there are any other agents while listening.
He finds a gruff looking officer barking orders to make sure the perimeter is secure. When Aaron introduces himself he frowns and huffs but shakes his head.
"Not well. Our top negotiator is still on his way but I don't know how long these psychos will wait. There is no way their demands will be met. They must know that."
He sighs, the stress of the situation weighing in on everyone.
"It's looking like breaching is our only option, but reports from those that got out is that they are Metahuman in nature. And they've threatened that they have a bomb."
There was a whole second grade classroom that was being held in there.
If he's shown a copy he'll look into where exactly that classroom is, and where the principal's office and any security rooms are! Usually these buildings have cameras, and often the feeds are in the principal's office.
"If you can keep them distracted as much as possible, we -" and by that he means Paradigm - "can sneak in, find the hostages and any bomb on the premises, and get 'em out of there. Then when everyone's safe we all converge on these animals and kick their teeth in."
The flash of anger that sneaked into his voice surprises him, and he gives the officer a look as if he's apologising for the brief loss of composure.
"Through the front door. Witnesses say a teacher tried to question them and was shot without word. Chaos ensued."
They are show the floor plans. The Principle's office is a few hallways down from the suspected classroom with the hostages! The security room is also connected to the main office, along with the principle's office.
"Get them talking, or at least paying attention to you, however you can. I don't care what you have to tell them. How many are we dealing with, any idea?"
Aaron would give his acknowledgements to Angel, Miranda and... hoodie guy. Never seen him before. "Angel, we're going to have to be subtle in there until we know the kids are safe. Can you do subtle?"
The officer gives Danny a dubious look at his lack of confidence. But Aaron seemed to have things under control.
"Reports said three entered the building. But others said there were half a dozen."
The officer motioned to one of his guys who would start talking to them from a megaphone. Telling them that they were reaching out to the Mayor's office about their demands. But also requesting that the hostage takers work with them, and give them a sign of good faith.
"Aaron, can you hide in someone else's shadow? If so want to see if they will do a hostage exchange? Let someone go in there in exchange for a kid and you hid in the shadow to get a sneak advantage?"

"I could, and that's not a bad idea, but I don't want to risk it. I've never tried it to that level of precision before, and if it goes wrong..." Well, Angel knows where he's going with this. Aaron would give Hoodie Guy a nod, though.
"Let's go. We're going around and sneaking into the main offices first, unless we can get right into the classroom. Remember, no fighting until we know the hostages are safe."
Aaron will lead them the long way round, past the barricade and down the side of the school, out of view if the enemy metas were keeping their eyes on the front. He tries to draw on the shadows enough to conceal them without making it too conspicuous!
Which classroom or window looked like the closest one to the main offices and Class A1, from how the floor plan matches up to what they're looking at?
The phone that the police were using to talk to the hostage takers would ring in response to the negotiator's request as anyone that goes with Aaron goes around the building!
Aaron will lead the group up to the window, still drawing upon the shadows cast around them to make them all harder to see. He'd take cover against the wall and look quickly into the window to see if anybody's on the other side! Is there?
