Mike would let out a sharp huff before gritting his teeth. His hands would clinch his pants in pain. Damn this hurts. But the girl had only just begun so he would just try to hold on through it, attempting to let her know she didn't have to stop but... Would she be able to know thats what he wanted?
Mike's face would start turning red sweat would start to roll down his forehead. The chains poked and prodded and drilled until finally a name. Signe. Then she would be hit with a deep sorrow so intense it would would affect the heart. It feel as if Mike very soul was crying and tears would roll down his face. That was enough for him.
"Stop!"
He would call out suddenly collapsing to the ground grabbing for his head.
"Please stop."
This time it wouldn't sound like a command so much as a plea. He was begging her to quit.
Eve's eyes flew open as he yelled at her, the chains seeming to disappear in the shock. The sudden return of her soul made her feel a bit woozy, but Mik had collapsed. Obviously, he was worse off.
"Oh, god!" She whispered, scrambling over towards him. "Are you okay? Mikky, I'm so sorry!"
Ken didn't get up to help. He tasted blood in his mouth, realizing he had bit the inside of his own cheek from the pain. Guess that answered a question for him- whether his own strength could pierce his skin. He would lean forward, forearms resting on his knees.
The pain would subside as her chains disappeared, but there would be an ache left behind... The kind of ache you couldn't stretch out or relieve.
She lightly patted his knee, glad that he seemed to be recovering. The Agent she had hurt the first time had passed out.
Evie yawned, unable to stop herself. Not used to using her chains like that made her tired... exhausted, really. She put a hand to her head and glanced between the boys.
"Yeah..." she shrugged, trying to smile. "I haven't mastered them yet. But I will!"
"Nah, ya did well. You got a memory out of me, which was....horrible. But it showed you're learning, right?"
He would pat Mikeal on the back.
"Shake it off champ. You'll be alright."
He felt a deep pain in his own body but just...ignored it. He was used to getting beat on with wrenches and struck with baseball bats whenever his father was pissed off. His dad knew his ability and just like to see how far he could go.
Imagine his frustration when Ken never bled, or when he asked him to use something bigger.
And he needed to stretch. Once they were out he would gently shut his door.
He needed to be taught to fight people like her. People like Mathew....who could make that happen? He got online, researching some of the leaders of this place.
"Director Allcott.....seems you're up to bat."
He would stand, grabbing his jacket, and walk out of his room.
She watched him leave with a look of obvious confusion, but gave a shake of her head and waved him away.
"Stay safe!" She called after him.
Then, looking back to Mik, she smiled. "I can whip something up real quick if you're hungry?" She offered, covering a yawn with her hand. "We can talk. We'll be the only ones here, and... I'd like to ask about Signe if I can?"
"Evie, hello." For once he's not bellowing, out of respect for the late hour, and what went on. "I learned about what happened at the party, and came to see if you were okay."
He'd been there! However, before the excitement with that metahuman started, he'd left, in the company of a lovely young woman. Thus he'd missed the entire thing and was now checking on the various people who'd been there.
That creepy little no-name is going to get a visit before he's shipped off to the Vault! HOW DARE HE ABUSE HIS POWERS SO CRASSLY!
Not really "all over Paradigm," no. The incident had made an appearance on late night news but no names had been named. Lucien, however, is better at finding things out than people give him credit for.
"Of course, anything for a comrade." He doesn't try to come in yet; after what happened, anyone would want some personal space. "If now is a bad time, though, I could always come back later. If you'd rather rest I mean."
It's pretty late after all, and she does look tired.
Usually, he would suggest he hold the bastard still so Evie could work 'em over with a Louisville Slugger, but she seems too soft for that. Which maybe wasn't a bad thing; not everyone can be like Lucien, and innocence deserves a chance where it's found. He steps inside, keeping a respectful bit of distance, and sneaks a peek at the screen, just curious what movie's on.
It's one of the Alien movies. The third one, specifically.
Following his gaze to the TV, Eve's face flushed a soft pink, and she moved to turn it off. It was as if he had found out one of her deep, dark secrets.
"Hey, you don't have to be embarrassed. I was just having a look around."
Lucien has seen a lot of weird stuff in his time with Paradigm; he doesn't judge. Although the Alien movies don't exactly seem like relaxing fare - but then, he's never actually sat down and watched them.
