Aaron has tracked down the contact info of everyone on the anti-Clavish team and told them to meet him in this classroom at this time! He's standing at the front of the room, arms crossed, waiting for everybody to arrive. Technically, that excludes Piper, but she can come if she wants. She had said it wouldn't be a good idea for her to know the whole plan, though.
That left Taner, Enya and Rhett expected, and they'd find Aaron still standing there, the desk in front of him covered in stuff. Jim's file, pictures of the building - multiple angles, thank God for street view and Google Earth - at the address Piper was given, any floor plans he could find online, handwritten notes on things she'd told him during that questioning earlier today. The blackboard behind him has various diagrams and notes and drawings on it, including a picture of Jim's face with a huge crosshair over it.
"For the most part, what I understand is that our target has some sort of... control or hypnotism. We don't really know much about it, but it doesn't seem completely irresistible."
Rhett turns to look at the others.
"Both Aaron and I agreed initially that when we find Jimothy, we need to take him down as fast as possible to limit the use of this power."
"At the very least, he needs to be engaged as quickly as possible, so he doesn't have time to focus on... whatever he does. With Rhett's power and mine, I think we can blind him and ambush him. We have to be careful, though - I read up on him, and even aside from his powers, aside from any Imperial tech he has on him, he's an expert at fighting hand to hand or with weapons. He might or might not have followers with him, as well - we should do some recon of the area before the day, so we know what we're walking into."
He looks over the group, gathering his thoughts. It's not much of a plan to start with, but with everyone gathered they can think of something.
"This is just a start, but the basic idea we're working with, right now, is that we know Piper is the bait, and she won't be able to resist him once she's in his presence - as soon as he shows up, we neutralise her, and hit Jim. Rhett and I will probably start the ambush on him, because of our specific powers."
Everyone in this room knows what Aaron does, he'll let Rhett explain his own abilities.
"I could try to stun him right away." Enya says, tilting her head in thought.
"If you guys can find gas masks that might be handy too."
Aaron points to Enya, in a sort of "good thinking!" gesture.
"Gas masks. We'll get our hands on some of those before we go; should be some in the armoury or something. As for you, Enya - we can try to get you close enough to him, depending on what exactly we're dealing with in there."
Taner sees the reports on Clavish are outdated. Paradigm hasn't encountered him for years. But he can see that he is immortal and the other Jimothy has shown immunity to poisons and tranquilizers in the past due to rapid regeneration breaking down the toxins. It's unknown if this Clavish can do that too.
He also sees that Clavish is skilled in multiple forms of combat as Aaron already mentioned, and that he was a key player in the Empire's rise to power in the early days. There are at least a dozen confirmed kills of Clavish, but never a recovery of the body.
"Worth a shot, Enya - he might go alone, or he might bring a whole platoon, for all I know. Piper said he had a number of 'acolytes' but that she didn't know much about them. If we run into them, your power will probably work better than on him, but if not it might at least distract him - just be careful, because they'll probably have powers too."
He frowns, thinking. "Reports say that whenever he's 'killed,' he passes out for a while before getting back up - but the time spent unconscious is inconsistent. Sometimes he's up in seconds, sometimes it's days before he starts breathing again. Like Rhett said, we're probably best off hitting him until he drops - shoot him, zap him, run him through, whatever."
"I wonder if it's related to the amount of damage he sustains when dying."
He's just thinking out loud.
"If it is, then the more damage we do the quicker and we might buy ourselves extra time while he revives. I wonder if I can get my hands on some explosive 50 cal rounds."
"Can you find something about as powerful, but more subtle?"
They live in an age where lasers and plasma weapons are a thing, after all. "We don't want something that'll give away our presence too early; Clavish has a ton of experience, if we're not careful he'll probably smell a trap, and then anything could happen. He could just get out of there, he could take it out on Piper, whatever - all unacceptable outcomes."
Taner switches to the map, checking the building for the meet and the surrounding area.
"Not unless I get some high level military clearance."
He comments on the lasers. Part of the reason they were losing to the empire is because they didn't have access to that tech.
"That said with a 50, as long as I get a sight line I can be 1000 yards away. He'll be in pieces before bang. Unfortunately, I'd say we'd want to bring everything back."
He glances at Enya. Does she like human jigsaw puzzles?

"Too much can go wrong when you're that far away, and if we need backup from you, you won't be close enough to respond. Not to mention tranquilising Piper would tip him off that there's a sniper around."
Wait, tranquilising...
"Taner, did you tell Piper you'd hit her with a tranq? Because if she knows, and she starts to turn to his side, with her speed it might not work - she could even tell him you're there. That's why she's not here, she won't be able to not tell him the plan if she knows what it is."
"But she also wanted to wait until she showed signs of betrayal. I'm just going to shoot her the moment Clavish shows. I can barrel load a tranquilizer round while loading a clip of explosive rounds. You two use your powers to hold Clavish in place after the first shot."
It's risky but they do have a back up.
"Though it might not work on Clavish the gas plan would likely work on any others present, so that can be in play as well."
