For once, Rebecca is on a mission of her own! She's had time to think over what's happened the past few days, and there are certain things that have been said or done that have bothered her. One such thing was what Matt had talked to her about in their last training session, so she's searching for him.
Because, really, who has anything better to do than pester senior agents and trainers?
Rebecca approaches, long enough to knock on whatever wall or surface is closest to get his attention. She looks over the cars while she's there. She's normally not out here.
She frowns, almost believing him. It wouldn't be weird for him to have forgotten. Rebecca's not unaware that there are certain phrases that get under her skin, especially when repeatedly thrown in her face.
"So 'people like you' was really just about people who need to learn control over powers because they're destructive? Or those who aren't likely to be as accepted?"
"I see." Her arms fold over her chest at the explanation, the frown remaining as she looks at the floor and recalls the conversation as well as what happened in the alley a few days ago. The memories deepen her frown.
"So what do we do about those who don't get a chance?" Her voice is softer now, as though she doesn't want to speak. She's not sure if she wants him to hear the words.
"A few days ago, some of us came across someone being attacked in an alley." So much frowning, she's looking years older already. "He was accused of buying out a boy's home and selling the kids off to claw for experimentation." Right, forget frowning. her lips twist at the last word, spitting it out with a great deal of venom.
That's right, she did regenerate. Rebecca wasn't sure who the power had been copied from for certain, but that made sense.
"Yeah. She still doing okay? The guy holding hostage threw her onto a car, but she said she'd be alright." So much doubt for a moment, but it's easier to focus on that. Until Matt wants elaboration. She shakes her head.
"Probably nothing more than my personal wondering and morals. If those kids are still able to be found and brought back instead of being specimens, they might have had the same chance I did. But there's a good chance they won't. Ever." She shifts, gripping her upper arms so tightly that her fingers ache.
"She'll be fine save for some time resting. Kind of a side effect of regenerating from more serious injuries." He frowns, clenching his jaw when she elaborates.
"I know. People like that make me sick. What happened to that guy...?"
"I was going to talk to him and see what I could find out. Feel like coming along?" Because clearly she's intimidating and there is nothing else going on with this.
