"Too long." Her smile grows a little as she shakes her head. "I'll probably be climbing the walls before long, but at least they're letting me be mobile this time." She nods to the crutches. "Got to get my practice in."
Evie turned to look at the crutches, and then a slow smile touched her lips. Her eyes seemed to glitter... with mischievousness? That was uncharacteristic.
"How many nurses do you have around here?" she asked suddenly.
Rebecca leans back a bit when she gets to close, but doesn't tell her to stop. Instead, she raises her brows, a smile slowly creeping across her face at the offer.
"Sweet! I'll be right back! You better get ready for this."
She giggled as she jumped up, making sure to keep back from Rebecca, and sneaked quietly out of the room and down the hall. She had to dodge one nurse, but that was the only one she could see. The hallway was clear.
Perfect.
She came back with a set of crutches, beginning to adjust them to her tiny height.
Tiny girls forever! Rebecca's already on her crutches when Evie arrives, fully adjusted and ready to move. She keeps her weight off of the leg with the injury.
She would fall behind Becca almost immediately, having never used crutches before, but she was obviously trying. She even kept one foot off the ground, just to make it fair.
Becca glances down the hall to make sure she's not going to get and ushered back into bed. Between this, being 'kidnapped, and the Aaron-Angel fight, she doesn't feel like having the staff essentially confine her to her room without supervision.
She is pretty quick with those crutches, too, avoiding anything in the hall if she can help it.
Becca swings around to watch as Evie makes her way towards her, lips twisting as the girl nearly falls but manages to save herself. Another life saved, it seemed.
She'll applaud by tapping her fingers against the grip of her crutch when Evie makes it to the end.
"Just a little," she agrees to the cheating comment. Normally she'd ask further, but sometimes it's nice to not have to throw powers into the mix when talking to someone. At the mention of round two, she nods.
Becca keeps an eye out for nurses on her end, knowing her luck can only last so long. As Evie lays out their new path, she nods and shifts her grip. Hers, at least, are adjust for her stature, but she also went through a great deal of "No, don't swing. Lift and shift," from the nurses.
Becca goes about like a pro, slowing a little when they near each other to make sure they don't just tangle themselves in each other's crutches. She had no desire to re-injure herself.
They almost tie! Determination is a beautiful thing.
Eve is just glad that she manages a second race without falling all over herself.
She ends up panting by the time the race comes to an end, and by that point, she is actually leaning on her crutches. She looks up at Rebecca with a smile, but then lets her head drop down again before she stands back up.
