It felt good to be able to move around again, not to mention pee without it being bloody. It was the small things in life. And while he was still feeling pretty weak thanks to the toxins that had been pumped through his body he was doing well. Even able to leave the infirmary and return home. Though his doctors suggested using a cane for a few days as support while his body regained it's strength. But everyone seemed pretty positive that he'd bounce back quickly, and Eric felt the same. Things had been dicey for a few hours, but he'd made it through the night and changed his fate. For the time being at least.
By the time he made it outside he was feeling a little on the winded side so he'd just take up residence on one of the benches overlooking the fountain near the main gate. Setting his cane on the bench next time him as he pulled his jacket tighter around himself. He wasn't sure if it was just really cold outside, or if it was because he'd come from spending the last few days in a warm infirmary room but he was feeling surprisingly cold.
Lucien, however, didn't mind. The cold air is exhilarating, invigorating, gives one strength! And so, he was off on one of his usual runs, the cold air biting at his uncovered arms - a tank top was hardly suited to this weather, but who cared? Certainly not the mighty Lucien Marais!
He hadn't had as much luck convincing a line of students to come along this time, though; word had obviously spread about the giant Frenchman. Legs thundering along, he whiled away the time, distracted from the throbbing in his legs and the air pushing through his lungs with a few patriotic songs from the fatherland, until finally he came upon the fountain. Here might be a good place to stop for a moment - he'd done many laps!
Lucien didn't see Eric on the bench, but Eric might have heard him coming.
Eric did, but he didn't speak French and didn't care much about it because of that. So by the time Lucien reached the fountain Eric would have headphones in as he scrolled through his playlist to try and pick out what he wanted to do for his next Karaoke night.

Bah! French is so much more beautiful a language than English!
Not noticing Eric, Lucien would reach the fountain and pause to take out a canteen of water, drinking from it as he finally stopped moving! He would, however, notice Savaak, and quite happily notice her at that.
"Great day for a run, no?"
Someone who thought so as well! No 'boo hoo, it's coo cold' from this lovely stranger!
Eric jumped as his phone vibrated and his ringtone rang through his earbuds. He'd flip open the text with a response asking what she was up to! He wasn't looking at anything other than his phone currently.
Savaak slows as she reaches the fountain and texts Eric that she's out and about on campus and wonders if the Captain wants some company since he's free of the infirmary!
When the stranger speaks, she pulls out one of her earbuds. "So it seems!" She offers him a smile. Bilingual, it seemed, or perhaps he merely knew the songs in their original language.
That had been a trick question! Savaak could figure out the answer to her own pondering by Lucien's accent, probably; his neighbourhood being predominantly French expats meant despite his fluency in English and his upbringing in America, he still had the accent. Her smile would be met by an even bigger one from him, after he downed the rest of his canteen in one tremendous gulp!
"Good to see a kindred spirit! So many hide indoors at the first chill in the air!"
"I'm sure there are plenty of kindred spirits here," she assures him. "One moment, please." She stops the conversation long enough to take a selfie, holding her finger to her lips like she's telling someone to keep a secret before sending it to Eric! He can see the fountain in the background.
Careful, or you'll wind up with a secret 'welcome back' party! But you didn't hear that from me. The message accompanies her pic!
"Thanks. Sorry about the interruption, but I wanted to check on a friend." And, on cue, said friends looks up and calls out a greeting. She laughs and waves at Eric.
Friends already? Cute. But Savaak's smile remains in place and is as sunny as ever. There may yet be hope.
She grins and tries to hide her chuckle at Eric's correction. He definitely has his spunk back
"Well someone's got their spunk back!" She makes her way over to Eric to give him a gentle hug! She looks up at the other man and waves with one hand without breaking the hug.
"Looks like I found my friend! Thanks for helping me find him." She winks at Lucien!
"Do you not think the mighty Lucien Marais is cute?"
Lucien flexed mightily, then began to laugh! Oh, not even he could say that with a straight face. He was still chuckling as the girl thanked him, and winked back at her!
"I am very good at finding things, especially for lovely young women! Ask any time!"
Oh, the things she could say to that offer the man made...
"I'll keep that in mind." She smiles warmly at Lucien, mirth lighting her eyes at Eric's quip. "Thanks, Detective. I might just take you up on that." Her arms slide away as she turns to face Eric.
"I'm going at figuring these things out. So, what was the first thing you thought of or missed while you were in the infirmary?"
"Only in his dreams!" Savaak chimes at the same as Eric's remark. She laughs and shakes her head.
"Well, that certainly gives me plenty to work with! I'm guessing you're going to have to stay on campus, though." Which meant any surprises would have to be brought to him. She raises a playful brow at Eric. "Though, you're going to have to introduce me to her at some point!"
She's glad the other man can laugh with the humor, though.
"Well, that's definitely good to know!" He would give the woman another wink, pleased to hear of her evident singleness - or at least, that he hadn't interrupted a romantic moment!
At the moment, though, the two were talking to each other, so rather than leave Lucien would busy himself. With pushups.
Savaak just lets Lucien bask in her smile a little longer before turning to Eric while the guy does pushups. Apparently, he likes to stay fit!
"Well, if that's the case, we could always go for lunch." Not a date this time, for obvious reasons, and no dance off this time. "Get you off campus. My treat?"
