The base floor is a mess with dead bodies tossed and ripped in half. Blood splattered across the wall, and more than one hole in the walls. "Third floor!" The man rushes for the stairs! The second leg connects into the squishy flesh of the creature as a mouth forms and clamps down on the calf of that leg, ripping hunks of meat off of her leg as it gives another forceful tug toward her! As he feels the claws go in, he tries to pull up his own shadow and the darkness around him to cover his back, solidifying into a shield hopefully before the bite! Though either way, it blasts straight upwards to try to knock the monster off him. Then it wraps around the beast and tries to throw it at Leif! The idea is just to force her back so he can get up and run to help Fred, but if it hits her, it hits her. Hopefully hard enough to knock whatever's gotten into her back out of her! If she made the hole in the wall without bringing the building down around her, she'll start walking back out. She doesn't see much in the way of a weapon other than the phone on the counter. And her fingers are slipping as the creature continues to chew up her leg, up to her knees. It's flesh seemed to be trying to envelope her even as it ate her. Aaron's flesh is ripped open by the bite and the claws before he is able to put up his shadow armor. He can feel his body begin to throb as anger starts to boil his blood! The beast is thrown toward Leif, it's tendrils slashing across her face as it knocks her back down! Savaak makes the holes bigger as he rushes up the stairs without a word or care toward her. She'd feel her legs start to buckle under her own weight as her vision blurred. He's confident Leif can handle herself, and besides, he's kind of angry about the whole "flipped the fuck out and tried to kill him" thing. He uses that anger, once he sees the beast attacking Fred. He draws on it, and his power reserves, and the darkness and shadows around him, to form a basketball-sized sphere, though he isn't foolish enough to dump all of his power into it like he's doing one of Jack's exercises. He dumps just enough into it to fire a hell of a powerful blast right at the mouth biting down at Fred, aiming to steer it just enough that it doesn't hit Fred's legs! There was a roar of pain from something inhuman from above. She might be able to stand up. She was powerful. She was unstoppable. And if he stole her glory how could she forgive him? Leif's body convulses as the infection spreads faster from the tendrils that scrapped her. Her spasms cracking and contorting her spine until it snaps and she lays lifeless on the pavement. Aaron can't see the monster attacking Fred because it's inside a building! But he can see the cat monster getting up as Leif dies! It's only the heat of excitement paired with the destroyed building's destruction. With effort, she pushes herself to her feet and tries to look through the hole she made in the ceilign to see if there's any sign of whatever made teh noise from above. However the mass of flesh would fold over her body as she got a limb free. Mouths everywhere, ripping her apart, tearing at their flesh. Their mouths laughing in glee and crying in pain. Her own mouth moving unbidden as she began to gibber and ramble. Her eyes focusing as she watched as they consumed their body. Savaak can't see it! She bounds up the stairs, or so she may believe as she weakly crawls up them. Her body barely able to move in such a weakened state. Power beyond measure coursing through her body, ripping her apart from the inside. Aaron thinks he got it, but his eyes keep sliding off of the creature, he can't seem to look directly at it. Like the space it inhabited was moving. He managed to slice it with spikes from the inside of his shadow construct, but somehow it was outside of the construct! And it was bounding toward him, it's tentacles whipping outward to grab at him! His blood continued to boil despite what he wanted, he could feel power welling up inside of him. More power than he had ever felt. Power enough to stop this thing. To save Fred. To save everyone. People would be dying all over the city if it was like last time. His Father couldn't stop it. But he could. Who the hell put all the stairs here, anyway? As Savaak's body continues to turn into an internal BBQ, her frustration fuels her anger. Anger at the fact that this is taking too long, that this creature dare not come out and face her, but must make her look for it like a useless cretin. He'd feel his steps falter as he began to head toward where Fred's scream had been. Savaak blasts through the walls with great fury! She catches a glimpse of the man with a sword as bright as the sun fighting against a monster. Several people were cowering against a wall. It appeared that it's mandibles had been sliced off and it was bleeding acid upon the floor. "You've got to get out of here." He can feel his organs churning and burning. Her words are slurred as she lurches forward. She sends a mighty blast that consumes the beast to nothing but ash! Time seemed to stop around the building as a man appears next to the sword wielding would be hero. "You have failed to save the one you love. And this second chance shall be paid for." The words came from everywhere but the figure as it's wormy hands grabbed the man by the face, lifting him up off the ground. The worms and maggots swarming over him as he convulsed. The heat burning up Savaak became to much as her world turned to darkness and she slipped through this mortal coil. "Ghaaaaasssssssst" Aaron would feel himself cooling down as Leif and others would start to stir where they lay. Fred, whole and unharmed curled on the carpet of the storefront next to a huddled mass of confused and frightened people. Savaak would awaken in the stairwell of a completely unharmed building. The frightened people looked around confused, but something was missing. He remembers what happened. Come on, Leif, don't be another Miranda. He checks her vitals and tries to wake her up, without putting his hands anywhere inappropriate. Calm down, nothing happened... "Leif, come on, wake up. Are you okay?" If she is, Fred should be too, but it's still burnt into his memory. The screaming, the pain, the shock of a friend(?) going after him with intent to kill, trying to save people. How easy it had been to cut loose and rip and crush and stab and smash when faced with the demons Dad had fought 16 years ago. That's one of the scariest parts, really.
