She tilts her head, also silent and still holding his gaze. She'd waited on people to come back before, and they never had.
She wasn't going to rub in his face that she was happy; like she'd said, she was past the point of grudges. What had happened had hurt her more than she had thought, but just as her anger with Enya had faded, so had her anger with him. Since he wasn't provoking her, there was no need to fall back on it.
"We've made it clear we're both capable of hurting each other. We probably wouldn't have even seen each other before now other than circumstance. So, yes. I set my feelings for you aside."
"Are you looking for a second chance, Silas, or closure?" She hasn't moved towards or away from him since moving the chair, but her hands fall to her side with her question. He's not in her personal space.
She studies him for a moment, arms unfolding with a soft sigh.
"My thoughts about you are the same as they were before," she says after a moment, her voice low. "I still feel you are someone worth getting to know, but I also know you're not one for friends or anything else you can't have an advantage over someone.
"My feelings towards you have changed. Maybe things would have worked out different if we'd spoken sooner, but I've let go of the hurt that came with watching you go. I've realized that there are others who care for me and that I can be happy with."
"I suppose it is." She nods, pushing the chair towards the desk, but doesn't move towards the computer to log out and shut it down. She'll wait for him to move away first.
"I guess not." What does he want from her, that she'd be willing to try? To go behind Eric's back to see if Silas was the one she wanted to be with, instead?
After a moment, her lips twitch into a smile. Testing the waters, indeed. She figured he was looking to see if she'd be willing to leave Eric, or maybe string both of them along as accused before. Or maybe something else, but the point was moot. She was happy with the person she was with.
