We all know what Rebecca does at night, even if it's less often than before. She takes those so-called creepy walks alone around campus, and now is no exception. Hands in her pockets, she wanders without a purpose other than just enjoying the night.
With only a single ear bud in, quiet music playing, she leans back and sits on the edge of the fountain in front of campus, willing to exist and not overthink things for the moment.
She had yet to give up on the world and go crawl into bed with Jude: the shadows had far too much to say, tonight. Paw led her around campus to those that were the most important, the ones that needed her attention. Suddenly, he stopped.
"Friend!" he squeaked, zipping off.
Dillon blinked, tilting her head to one side and following him. He wasn't visible again until she neared Becca. Then, he appeared, wrapped around her shoulders.
Rebecca blinks and sits upright at the sensation of something brushing against her skin, becoming tangible. She turns her head in the direction, momentarily startled out of her thoughts. A sly grin lifts the corners of her lips.
Rebecca looks up as Dillon's pale form becomes clear, lifting a hand in greeting as Paw expresses his delight.
"Hi, Dillon." She seems content with her current company, looking over her shoulder for whatever the other girl saw before remembering that there dind't have to be anything or anyone she hadn't seen. She glances at Paw. "She's right, you know. Why wouldn't I?"
"Oh, hi, Becca." Dillon smiled at the girl, then her gaze dropped to the girl's shadow, leaning back into the water. "Hello, Adira. It's nice to see you both again."
She spoke softly, almost as if she were afraid to be overheard. Paw giggled at that, turning to lean his head upside down on Becca's shoulder, looking up at Dillon.
It had a name? Maybe Rebecca shouldn't have been surprised at the notion, given she had a sentient power who presumably had its own name as well, but the idea of her shadow having one did make her pause. At least it wasn't Becky or some scrambled moniker of her name with an X thrown in.
"Okay," is about all that she can sum up for Paw's question, wondering who else it's directed towards. "You?"
Even more people who can read into her on some level with their power? Wonderful. Rebecca shifts as Paw phases in and out, glancing at him with a raised brow at his comment. She finds herself curious about it, though. Again.
It does bother Rebecca a bit to speak to Paw but not Dillon; she doens't want to be rude to the other girl, but Dillon seems to be in her own world doing her own thing. She just rolls with it and figures that will change when she feels that it should.
"Power reasons, or super religious people?" She directs the question towards Paw!
"Pretty much." She watches as Paw does a Cheshire impression, jumping slightly at the sudden noise that accompanied his disappearance. She looks over at Dillon since the other girl's still there, spying the shadow with her.
The two were interesting, to say the least. She could understand what she'd been told; there were others at Paradigm that would probably mock and harass Dillon for not seeming 'normal.' People were people, and that wasn't always a great thing.
She's not sure if she should interrupt the conversation the other two seem to be starting.
Dillon hummed softly to Paw, who seemed to be having some sort of silent conversation with her. He glanced back up at Becca, finally, with a wide smile.
"We like you," he said with an affirmative nod. "You don't call us crazy."
