Shadowrunners are deniable assets that work and deal in illegal and quasi-legal matters for corporations, political entities, or really anyone that can afford them. They come in all shapes and sizes and from all walks of life. Most are specialized and work as part of a team ranging from four to six people. Some teams are larger, and some Shadowrunners work in pairs or solo. Though that is uncommon.

Shadowrunners navigate the harsh life of the Sixth world, putting their lives on the line night after night to do somebody else's dirty work. Always keenly aware of just how disposable they are. It's a hard lifestyle, one that comes with plenty of downs for the ups it brings, one that often makes you a lot of enemies that would love to see you six feet under, and one that builds bonds of camaraderie that are all but unbreakable.

Shadowrunners fall into the lifestyle for a variety of reasons. Perhaps they are SINless and legitimate work is hard to come by. They could have been a former corp wage slave and for one reason or another, they were burned and forced to use their skills elsewhere. Some are just criminals with big egos, and others are soldiers no longer fit for duty. Rare is the Shadowrunner that chooses the life but isn't stuck in the life. And even rarer is the Shadowrunner that lives long enough to see their Grandchildren.

A Shadowrunner's skills may be martial, technical, or arcane. Every runner is different and brings something different to the table. From the spell-slinging anarchist bomber to the cyber outfitted ninja, to the con man infiltrating a Megacorp as a wage slave to steal valuable data. For every job there is a runner with the skills, connections, and expertise to get the job done.
