"Glad you like it." She gives him a small smile and stands to her feet. "'Scuse me for a second." She comes back a moment later with a straw, awkwardly managing, "Thanks, by the way." Before taking another, more merciful drink.
She spends another minute kicking herself and trying to remember if they'd tried straws int eh past and she just couldn't remember. She probably kept losing them.
After a moment, she looks at Mike and tries to pick up conversation again, just a little. "Did you at least have someone there in case things went really wrong?"
"Next time." She blinks. "You let someone attempt to blow you up and didn't think it woudl be a good idea to have some sort of backup if things go wrong?" She shakes her head and takes another sip of the slushie.
"We may not have that available on missions if things go wrong, but it wouldn't hurt to use the resources here while we can." She's worried about him more now than when the conversation started.
"I...wouldn't say that." She shakes her head, remembering her previous encounters with Silas. It was hard to believe they'd sort of - sort of - gotten along for maybe three sentences. Maybe. Silas probably wouldn't give him backup unless he was going to be accused of murder or something.
"Good." She smiles, shoulders relaxing as she leans back in her chair to stretch as best she can without smacking into anyone who might be passing by.
"Sorry," she adds with a sheepish laugh. "Paradigm's the first place I've had good friends in a long time. Guess it makes me a little protective." And a worrier.
"I remember." She doesn't elaborate the cause of her worry beyond that. The logical part of her knows they need practice for real missions and worst case scenarios, but she pushes the idea away for the sake of not wanting needless waste in terms of how many agents are around.
See what happens when you encourage her, Mike? Here she goes, hitting you and Silas, throwing pillows at Clyde when he's drunk...the scandal will outrageous.
She pauses a moment, looking around to see that there's plenty of room and no one in particular looking their way. Granted, there may be security cameras, but if they missed the glowing aura around his arm and the offered limb, then they were shoddy cameras and should be replaced immediately.
With a small intake of breath, she brings her fist down on the aura around his arm, hitting it with teh side of her hand.
"Thanks." She wonders if he's humoring her, but Mike's never really lied to her, so why start now when there was nothing to gain other than a few brownie points? She'd like to think she knew him better than that, anyway.
Mike takes his dish back to the sink and offers to take hers as well. Once all was said and done they were out! He'd walk with her content with the silence unless she decided to talk.
