A couple of days after her last session with Matthew, Rebecca is headed to the archives. She had intended to look at her own file at first, but the realization that she could have access to everyone's information made her realize there were other files she wanted to know of more. Including the Earth Dragon's.
It was Matthew's fault, of course. He'd invited her to look when he'd asked her if she knew what else he was called. So she would go and learn. Maybe she'd even find out what the hell had crawled up his ass and died there when it came to dealing with people. Some of the other students she knew hadn't had a problem with him, but others had. Overall, he was about as cuddly as a cactus full of spiders.
She swipes her ID card to gain access and steps inside!
Piper had found herself in the archives, probably doing more research than she should. Open files lie scattered around her as she searched for anything, any weakness in those she felt weren't worth her time... And for any mention of the shooter.
She had a hand buried in her hair as she shifted through yet another boring file, trying to find out whatever she could on agents passed, when Rebecca walked in. Quickly, she closed her file and tossed it aside, eyes raising to meet the little goth girl.
"Rebecca... You startled me." She murmured, glancing at one of the files she had set aside... Silas's.
Rebecca looks over at Piper when she hears the other girl's voice, a little startled. Of course this place would be busy, too, but at least it was someone she was on friendly terms with. She nods along with her greeting.
"Hi, Piper. Sorry about that." Her eyes go over the files scattered about. Does she see Silas's name, or has Piper turned the file over?
Looks like it's a day for research. She leaves Piper alone and goes down the aisle towards the J section, but stops when she sees Matthew Amtrum's file first. She pulls it down and pauses, seeing another person with the ame surname before his.
Evelyn Amtrum. Her brows lift in surprise as she quickly takes the second file and places it under Matthew's, then heads down to where her own file should be located. It was not a common surname, especially for both to be in Paradigm.
Okay, maybe she was being a bit nosy.
Retrieving her own file, unless it happens to not be on the shelf, she would slip it between Matthew and Evelyn's and heads over to a table close to Piper's, Matthew's name easy to see since she's not hiding it like the last one.
Rebecca's would be missing, hidden under another file in front of Piper. She had a few others: all of the Silverman's, anyone with Silas's last name, and two staff files... One on Charlie and one on Abby.
Piper glanced up, seeing Matthew's name, and narrowed her eyes.
"Looking into the damnedable douche prick?" She asked, using colorful language she usually didn't bother with.
Then Rebecca's other file is carefully hidden beneath Matthew's! She frowns at not seeing hers, but shrugs it off as there's only one other person in the archive.
"Something like that." She laughs a little at the language, an unspoken camaraderie in a shared opinion. She flips open the first page, but after reading couple lines, turns back to the other girl.
"You don't happen to have mine, do you? I wanted to see just how much is open to anyone who comes wandering in." A generally friendly smile for Piper. For someone else, it might have been different.
Piper let her read in silence, still going over more of Aaron's information, learning what she could.
When Rebecca spoke to her, she glanced up, and there was a moment of silence. Had it been anyone else, she would have lied to them, suggested that maybe the files got mixed up somehow, and maybe even offer to help them look, but...
"Yeah," she admitted, offering what could have almost been an apologetic smile. "You seem to be one of the only people worth really learning about."
However, she didn't make any motion to grab the file for her. After all, she hadn't read everything, yet.
"If that file has anything interesting about the little bugger, then yes." She was smiling, glad Rebecca didn't seem too insulted that she had decided to research her.
She glanced back down at the one she had on Silas, cocking a brow. "Is there a specific one you want?"
"It probably will. Super confidential stuff is probably elsewhere so students and other agents can't pry." She gives Piper a wry smile at her question.
"Then I'll have to work a big harder to find it," she commented, grabbing Silas's folder and tossing it towards her... Almost friend.
She didn't seem too interested in it, even though she hadn't read it yet. Worst case, she'd come back another day for it. "Mind if I ask you a personal question, Rebecca?"
Rebecca nods and catches the folder, placing it beside Matthew's for later. Hopefully before Silas comes in, because that's just how her luck rolls. By tripping her up and letting her land on a bunch of spikes below.
"Thanks." She doesn't comment on if Piper will have to try harder or not. That's too easy. Instead, she starts looking through Matthew's file!
She doesn't comment on Piper's question and a brow slowly rose over one eye. She couldn't help the smile that crossed her features. She enjoyed the challenge.
"You seem to be particularly interested in pricks, today."
The first page is basic personal information. Name, age, date of birth, birth place, family relations. Father, Mother, Wife, Daughter were all listed as deceased.
The door opens, and Mark steps inside. He pauses for a moment, caught off guard that there's others in the records room, before moving to start sorting through the ones that haven't been taken off the shelves yet.
Rebecca would find page two. And many pages beyond that are police reports. Starting with petty theft, vandalism. Small crimes. Through Jr. High and High School the crimes increased to burglary, grand theft auto, assault and battery, a myriad of gang related charges. After the awakening she would find Interpol reports. They seemed to be related to terrorism. Including a report by Paradigm about his activities leading a large group of defecting Russian soldiers to attempt to launch a nuclear weapon.
Rebecca's brows rise higher and higher the further she goes into the reports, each one growing more severe than the last. At the Interpol reports and Paradigm's. She just stares at the paper, trying to digest what she's reading.
There are several pages reporting on a time traveling incident where Mathew from the future and Mathew from the present switched places. Both Mathew's played a role in stopping an advanced robot army from destroying all life and time itself.
