It's 5 in the morning, and for the most part, the outer campus is silent.
Anyone who is out and about, though, would eventually hear the sound of breathing, somewhat labored, and footfalls quickly thereafter.
Zoharin Cross, clad in a pink sports bra and a pair of black yoga pants, begins to pass by, at a fairly decent pace. Judging from the slight sweat of sheen on her body, it's likely she's been out here a fair bit already.
A set of earbuds plug her ears closed, with an upbeat tune playing to keep her momentum up. All in all, she seems pretty in the zone.
Given the same training, the twins have the same schedule. Taner has been out on his run in a USMC shirt on and just some black shorts. Unlike her, he's got no music and is just focused on the cadence of his breathing and strides. He runs different paths around the grounds each day, plotted out and memorized so he can keep every morning to a five mile distance.
So it's a pleasant surprise to see a familiar running mate jogging along on this particular morning. Obviously, he brother would be there as he veers up beside her and taps the opposite shoulder while trotting along side. A large grin forming on his face at the childish maneuver, waiting to be acknowledged.
While they might normally have the same schedule, Zoharin had been awake for at least an hour and a half prior. Her first night in the new room had been restless, filled with awful dreams of losing her arm, and so much more. When she awoke, she was already in a cold sweat, and so decided to go out and earn it.
Hence, when her brother came up behind her, she was so in her own little world that, between her thoughts and the music, she had no idea that anyone was around at all.
She feels the tap and jerks her head in that direction, far too quickly, eyes widening at the lack of a presence to accompany it. She starts to falter, whipping her around to see her brother right beside her. The shock of it all causes her to lose her balance entirely, stumbling to the ground in a less-than-graceful fashion.
This is a Cross, though, and she manages to roll into the fall as dexterously as possible, coming to a seated position on the grass relatively unharmed. At some point, the earbuds had fallen out of her ears, though.
"Tan-er," she whined, drawing out the second syllable. "What the shit?!"
Taner comes to a stop as Zora is startled before tripping up, and just laughs at the fall, priceless. He has to give her credit for the recovery and talented tumble, shall we say. A gentle round of applause for the young lady.
"Nice one, Zozo."
He walks over to give his twin a hand up.
"What? I can't say hi to my little sister when I see her."
Zora huffs, accepting the proffered hand to pull herself back up. She dusts herself off, a larger amount of dirt than what looked to be accumulated from the fall sloughing off.
Despite it all, she still can't help but grin at her brother. "Just lay off the sneaky-sneaky next time, yeah?"
She pulls into the embrace, giving him a tight squeeze. She'd only been a few days after him to get here, due to getting sick right around the time of the flight, but even those few days had felt like an eternity.
Especially considering the amount of trouble Taner could get himself into in just a few days.
She blows off his remark about the airhorn, unwilling to tell him the real reason why she was so out of it. "Yeah," she agrees, laughing, before releasing the hug and giving him a teasing punch to the shoulder.
"Suuure you are, big brother," she snarks, a bit of Taner's sarcasm sneaking into her usual tonality as she refers to his age. "You settling in okay here?"
Taner returns the tighten embrace. He's only vaguely aware of her heightened concern for him. To him she's just an awesome sister that looks out for her brother, totally missing the fact that he causes her so much worry sometimes. He rocks slightly to the side from the punch in the shoulder, chuckling softly at the comment.
"Not my fault I got gramps size."
Well, height as it would take a great deal more work to get to that man's muscular size. Even in his later 50's, he is still a mammoth man.
"I'm alright. Got two roommates. This girl who goes by Savaak, last name Puckett, and Bumble Bee is in my room."
He says with a smirk, referring to their childhood compatriot with the nickname he often used for Bianca Stark.
Her energy renewed, Zora puts up a quick pace to the Academy main building, opening the doors and winding through the corridors until she comes to the Director's office.
Zoharin opens the door and storms in, immediately stiffening straight as a board and putting her hands behind her back before she addresses the director.
