Slowly, carefully, he reduces the platform to coverings over his feet and lowers himself to the ground, towards the control panel for the Legion bots. Then he takes some exaggerated steps over to it before walking more normally, to see if the vibrations draw out any response!
His plan if all else fails is to make one of the bots just scan Tutorial for any lifeforms other than himself.
Stupid damn piece of tin. He sends it back where it came from and deactivates it, before starting to head towards the exit! Maybe somebody can give him the time.
Aaron covers the tip of the spike in hardened shadow so that it's effectively blunted, just in case his step backwards and to his right doesn't get him out of the way in time! A bruise is better than getting stabbed. Then the shadows covering his feet extend back into a small platform, lifting him a bit of a ways into the air and away from the walls as he spins to look for his opponent!
This pain is nothing compared to what that armoured figure hit him with. It still hurts, and he bites the insides of his cheeks to prevent a loud curse from escaping, but he can keep trucking. He takes another step forwards to pull free from the spike, then tries to lift off again, keeping an eye out for more spikes coming his way!
That does make him cry out! He tries to cover the spike with a shadow to slow and blunt it and allow him to pull himself free, digging little spikes of his own into it if he can to aid in putting on the brakes!
Good thing he isn't trying to get to the door or escape the room, just to free his leg!
He asked to train. All the searching around and faking leaving was about drawing Mr. Amtrum out to play. As he tries to free himself, he extends his shadow over the floor so his steps won't send vibrations Mr. Amtrum can pick up, trying to move away from the spikes on the door and the one hitting him!
Worth a shot, he looks for a split second over his shoulder to see if Mr. Amtrum has revealed himself.

The spike in his leg was still there and hooked but it's momentum had been slowed by Aaron. So as he lifts himself up he'd feel his flesh ripping more as the spikes from the door shot out toward him, with his movements. Does he still look back behind him?
Not while spikes are shooting at him! He throws a cloud of darkness over himself and sways away from the spikes as best he can, but the cloud isn't solid - rather than hitting a wall, as any spikes make contact with the cloud, the darkness follows and covers them, solidifying at the tips to effectively make them blunt pillars.
If the spike is still in the back of his leg, the spikes in it that're slowing it will start spinning as he tries to basically buzzsaw the tip off and free himself. If he pulled free, he lifts up, trying to ignore the pain as he gets some distance!
The darkness cloud kind of does it's job. But he isn't able to blunt all of them while also trying to buzz saw off the spike digging ever deeper and upward through his leg! Several blunted spikes slam into him while one unblunted one pierces into his shoulder!
He cries out again, pulling away to try keeping the second spike from doing what the first is doing!
The pain is honestly starting to piss him off. He keeps up the cloud, because it's not exactly hard to maintain, and keeps trying to buzzsaw off the tip in his leg!
A wall of solid shadows also fires out from the cloud, straight behind him, just in case Mr. Amtrum is there.
He fires a wall of shadows behind him blindly! The spike in his shoulder was hooking when he pulled away. He was able to rip it out though along with a hunk of flesh! He does manage to cut the spike but the bit inside of him continues to dig up through his muscles making it's way ever upward!
In desperation, and furious both from the pain and his own uselessness, he tries to send a tendril of shadows inside the wound to wrap around the hooked tip and pull it out, wriggling it around to try to keep the hooks from snagging!
