Nate yawned and walked into the pod following Mr. Amtrum's directions. "Cool, quiet place here." Nate set his backpack with all of his belongings, mostly knick knacks used in his craft. "Man that guy needs some happy in his life." He spoke to the ceiling, laying out on the bed lazily.
Nate looked at her funny as the Lilac shattered as well.
"Nope, I'm definitely Nate." He nodded sagely.
"I'm new here, and this place is bloody confusing, any idea's? Also, I gotta meet Mr. Amtrum in a bit back at the facility. Any idea where to get a bite to eat in the meantime? I mean, this is Cago, you're supposed to have the best deep dish pizza ever." Again he nodded sagely, a happy smile plastered across his face.
"There's, uh... a robot in the cafeteria. He'll make you whatever you ask for."
She rubbed her forehead for a moment, wondering when she was going to get used to these weirdos and their illusion/portal/not-realities. She muttered something under her breath, but there was a little half smile on her face.
"I spent most of my time here in the wild, wild west, doing peyote and drinking with the Indians. But I mostly remember my tour. Come on, I can help ya out."
Nate followed Mrs. Squaw out of the room, pulling a coin out of his pocket and fiddling with it across his knuckles. "So I just got here, and I have absolutely no idea what's going on." He said rather cheerily. He'd get the hang of the place soon enough.
"Well, let's see. We're all superheroes working to defeat these evil entity that is taking over Europe. They attacked us recently, and now we're all going to war. Our trainer is a bad ass, undefeated champion of everything, except when his daughter died. We have a psychologist and a Director - they're married - as well as another director, all of whom are, you know... also bad asses."
She tapped her chin thoughtfully as she led him towards the cafeteria.
"We're soon to get sucked into a war that is sure to kill thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of people... Oh, and there is a dude who does magic, too. He's pretty cool."
Nate listened while he followed her, his attention split between her and the coin in his hand. "Sounds like a good place for a hero like me to be. Gotta bring wonder and magic back to the world! What better way to do that than by defeating the villain?" He asked then paused. "Who are you by the way? It seems everyone around here has a problem with introductions."
"Naw, that's not me. I'm the Merlin to everyone else's Arthur and Lancelot. If I have to fight I will, especially to protect people. But I like bringing the world joy, and that usually doesn't take a bad-ass."
Nate laughed and shook his head a little. "You know, most people think that way."
He grinned at her. "But..." He said with a flourish as a reasonable rendition of the Indian Chief Running Bull appeared before her. "You're all looking at this wrong. Even kids get hope and being happy."
She stopped when the native American appeared before her, a grin slowly crossing her features. She placed both hands on her hips before turning to look at the new guy.
Nate just shook his head smiling. "Keep the flower, pretty flower for helping me get some deep dish."
"Nah, I'm just me, I can create anything. And if I keep doing so, making good things, wonderful things. Maybe the world will be better ya know?" He asked.
She gave an honest shake of her head as she plucked the flower free from his fingers. She turned back and began to continue leading him through the school, getting to the doors of the Academy.
