Rebecca eyed the doorway that lead to the basement, not quite convinced she should go down just yet. Part of her expected to be baiting the hook for her own doom, while the other part argued what she'd been telling herself since the night at the cemetery. In the end, the argument won.
She was tired of being a liability. It wasn't even her own power that was directly at fault, supposedly, but she was painfully aware of her shortcomings when compared to other students. And at Dr. Gavyn's recommendation, here she was, about to put herself in the hands of two very powerful psychics.
With a deep breath breath, she heads into the basement!
Freya's down there, sitting on a chair with her eyes closed. That is, until Rebecca is close enough. Her eyes would open wide, like someone awoken from a nightmare, and her head would turn to look at her quickly.
"We have company." she murmurs, though Rebecca can tell the words aren't quite directed at her.
A chill runs down Rebecca's spine as she gets close enough to see Freya's reaction.
"Hello, Freya." She stops a couple of paces after being see, glancing over to the general dreiction of the new voice, then back the other girl. "Is this a bad time?"
"I guess you could say something, sort of." Small frown time. "I'm looking for help more than anything." Her gaze returns to Freya, since she's the one Rebecca can actually see.
"I was told that you might be able to help me to learn how to protect my mind from mental attacks." Something has to be better than nothing.
Freya glances at Destiny as she moves before looking back at Rebecca.
"I haven't decided yet. It will depend on how well you do and how quickly you can do it. I'll accept your promise to hold up your end of the deal for now. Is that alright? Oh."
In other words, be a good distraction without wasting their time. It makes her wary, but she nods, looking over to where Freya is to see who else is with them. If she sees Destiny, she quickly looks away.
Somehow, she doubted it would be more than just unpleasant. Rebecca hesitated for a moment, eyeing the chair. Of course it would be unpleasant; she hated people poking in her head to begin with. But now? Now she's about to welcome two strangers into her mind by her own choice.
But then, saying no would just keep her vulnerable to worse. She may not know Freya or Destiny, but they weren't a giant brick wall of a man who could alter her perceptions and understandings. She didn't want to relive the feeling of her powers hurting a friend again. Her stomach twisted just thinking about it.
After a moment, she takes a deep breath, nods, and takes the offered seat.
Unlike Freya, however, Destiny appears to be glowing quite brightly, the light coming from her obscuring the details of her form, though otherwise she appears to be the same woman.
She opens her eyes and looks around the empty space, including the bright woman who is sort of like a giant hundred watt bulb. She looks away on reflex before realizing it may or may not actually hurt her physical eyes to have looked.
"So what is this place?" Aside from apparently her mind.
