Taking in a deep breath, Rebecca lets go of her idea of the wall, despite Destiny leaning against it. She looks around the still rather vacant room with a nod and focuses not on a wall, bu the safe space itself. Instead, she wills the entire safe space to be a barrier, a room of sorts that traps anyone and everyone in that she doesn't want going further.
She doesn't want anyone going beyond this point. Ever.
That sounded like Freya just had the answer she needed. Rebecca does not approve. She looks around the safe space, lips twisting as she reconsiders her tactic - provided she has time.
Well, what went beyond feelings? There was the basic principle that she didn't want anyone in. Not only to protect herself and her secrets, which in turn protected her from being hurt further. But that relied also on her feeling hurt.
She was making this even more complicated just by thinking abut it.
She wanted people kept out of her mind or trapped in a secure space because they were intruders. They didn't belong. Whoever, whatever was there shouldn't be. It should be just her, and the need to keep her mind safe and secure. No matter what they threw at her.
The reminder served its purpose as Rebecca's eyes narrow, still focused on Freya since she was the one pushing against her barrier. She'd started to chase her own thoughts in an endless circle again. She's quiet for a moment, focusing on what was being said.
Confidence went a long way. Or would, if she had more of it. But if this place, her mind, wasn't the one place she could have it, then was there really anywhere else? She had control here.
"You will not." Her eyes narrow as she wills it to be so.
"Of course it isn't." Freya chuckles. "She's not psychic and even I can't keep you out, yet."
Yet.
"But. I have a theory that if she endures it enough, it will gradually be stronger. Once it actually becomes a bit difficult for you, we'll consider it a success."
No big deal. Just smash and rebuild. Over and over.
It's what she signed up for, though Rebecca doesn't say as much. Either way, this was going to hurt for all the reasons already pointed out.
She grits her teeth against a noise of pain, watching her walls to see the results. It's not like she's going to get another chance to see this herself.
There's a second's pause as she listens to Destiny before the wall rebuilds and reforms. She's not sure if the what Destiny said is a sign or progress, or if the other had expected less of her.
Good thing she didn't have to be anywhere anytime soon.
