Screw it. She'd been good. She'd been horrible, mostly to herself and any sort of self esteem she could build. As mad as she was at Enya, the other girl was right: Rebecca tended to court her own misery and keep it close. So why not break away from that, especially since one of the sources of said misery was with her podmate.
Why should it even matter anymore?
The tightness in her chest begins to ease as she takes a deep breath, holding it for several seconds and letting it go as her arms fall to her sides.
She keeps an eye out for where they're headed! If she recognizes it or it's secluded enough, she might come back here on her own, maybe even in the daytime.
"I should have known better than to challenge you,' she admits after a moment, "but I thought it being late might throw you." No complaints from her, either!
It was a bit away from the main building! He'd open a few portals pulling out a large checkered blanket and laying it on the ground and then a picnic basket full of sandwiches! Finally he'd pull out some candles and carefully set them up around the blanket.
"I thought a secluded picnic would be a good second date."
She watches as he pulls out the checkered blanket, the biggest hint of what the night/morning is going to entail. She smiles and nods in approval as the picnic basket appear, caught between relaxing more in the secluded area and the fact that this is a very impromptu moment that she doesn't want to screw up.
"I think it's an excellent idea." She gives his hand a gentle squeeze, her words almost soft.
"Pb and J sounds good to me." She sinks down on the blanket next to him, leaning back somewhat as she folds her legs and clasps her hands around them for balance.
"I'm guessing you were thinking of something with a little more daylight, huh?" She looks back at him, waiting to see if those candles appear. Not to mention that pb&j would be a lot easier to handle if the eating thing didn't go well.
"I think so," she agrees with a nod as she takes the sandwich. Her player missed the part about the candles.
"Sandwiches and solitude? You know the way to my heart already." It would be nice for them to talk about things and just o whatever. The lack of drama leading up to this might have made it better, but it also serves as a good distraction fro her own twisted feelings. And she does get along with Eric sooo...
"How'd you find this place? I've been all over campus looking for a quiet spot."
