Paradigm's agents find themselves on top of a large roof, courtesy of one Special Agent Young!
The roof is massive, and there are no skylights to see inside. However, there is a fire escape leading down the side of the building, as well as a door that leads directly into the building itself through a stairway.
In the distance, the agents can see huge machines of war, ranging from the familiar shapes of dragons to other, more human sized figures. There are no buildings around other than the one they are on top of, making it seem out of place.
Mike takes a moment to stare off into the distance at the machines of war, marveling at their size and the scene before him. It was not how he imagined things.
With so many of those monstrosities on the battlefield already he's not sure how much difference this mission is going to make, but they have to try. Too many more people are going to suffer if this fails.
"Okay, Mike, New Guy. Don't know if you were brought up to speed before we got here."
They hadn't been at the prep session, after all.
"Silas is running this one. The plan so far is we cover him while he makes his way into the room we're after, maybe with Eliott? Then we keep an eye out, and all get out of here once the place is ready to blow. We could run into literally anything in there, though, so we should be ready to step in if things aren't that simple. We play it careful, we should get the job done and all be out of here just fine."
But everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face, as Mike Tyson would say. This isn't to usurp Silas, he just wants to make sure the ones he hadn't seen at the planning session know the score. Carefully, he walks over to the roof access door, checking for traps or security measures and testing, briefly, if it's locked!
He'd not be surprised if the door is alarmed, so he doesn't try to force it open, waiting for Silas to make whatever move he plans to make.
Covering somebody, huh? Made more sense to Josh that he'd be brought along for this one. 'Covering somebody' happened to be his specialty, after all.
"Uh huh, ack...acknowledged?" He said, stuffing his hands in his pockets. Hidden from view, his fingers nervously scratched at his legs through the fabric. "Question: Which one is Silas?"
Leif is here! She is trying to watch to see if anybody is moving around. If she can see anything interesting. She doesn't seem to be paying much attention to Aaron.
None of the many... many guards ringing the building are seemingly doing anything interesting. They're all looking outwards, away from the building, as if waiting for something.
There's a loud, vigorous rumbling sound coming from below the agents' feet, accompanied by a high-pitched whine.
"That sounds like some sort've machine..." Josh muttered. He then realized that maybe this wasn't the most productive thing to say, so he tried being a bit more specific.
"Elliott, open that door and see where it leads, but don't get spotted. Mike, you and Leif are with me. The rest of you cover Eliott and do what she says, understood?"
He doesn't even fully wait for acknowledgement before looking to see what's through that window and if he can get in quietly.
Eliott nods and walks towards the door. Thank God Leif and Silas are together and away from her. They both got way to touchy with her on separate occasions. She cannot deal.
"Fine by me." she says, lifting her hand and trying to get the door to unlock, whatever the mechanism may be.
