If the wall Aaron was making follow him still exists, he fires it at Rian! The top half feints at him, while the bottom half surges forwards to catch Rian's legs at the shins, wrapping round and keeping going to try to pull him off his feet mid-stride! That's a matter of balance, not strength, and he's not aiming to keep him there all day or anything, just knock him over and maybe drag him backwards to buy them time to get out of there, so hopefully there'll be some results.

When she says to, Aaron also grabs on to Nicky!

Nicky starts channeling her teleport, so unfortunately she can't blast Rian away.

Considering how Josh's walls work, he's not going to risk Rian grabbing it and pulling it (and thus, also him) away. So Josh finds somewhere to grab, takes hold, prays it isn't something he shouldn't grab and wishes there was no place like home!

That surprises Aaron! Silas squeezes off his pain gun shot and sets off the bombs before Aaron reacts, but that might still leave someone as strong as the Director flying right at them. He draws on as much of his power as he still can to send tendrils up to snare Rian by the ankles after the shot is fired, and slam - or at least pull - him to the ground! That's just letting gravity and surprise do the work, but it's up to chance if he has time to do that before Nicky poofs them all out!

If he finds he doesn't have the reserves for that, he just empties the entire magazine of electroshock bullets right into Rian's face.

Silas presses the button, but doesn't get to witness the results of his shot as well as Aaron's tendrils start to form, as the entire crew teleports away just a half second before the explosion!

They arrive back at base!

Aaron finally relaxes as they appear back at home base, letting go of Nicky! That got scary for a minute there, and obviously he's going to have to hone his tools to be able to deal with someone like Rian in the future.

"Good job, everyone," he says, trying to give the group a smile and Silas a respectful nod. Then he looks to Agent Young, who definitely deserves acknowledgement.

"Thank you for helping us."

Though all those machines they saw out there, those are definitely a concern. How the hell are the allied forces supposed to beat them all?

Aaron had lost his smile when Leif glared at him, looking genuinely hurt and mildly confused, but the praise from Agent Young brings it back, looking a little sheepish. He really doesn't feel like he did anything worth describing as "doing good," but the rest of the team did good work. He maybe did okay as rear guard, or slowing down the concrete and Mike when he got sent flying? Maybe? But solid output from everybody else. Though, talking to her now, he does remember last time.

"I'm sorry I haven't found a way to deal with their weapons with my power, yet. I thought I'd have more time to work on some theories."

He hasn't even wholly figured out how his power works, yet. It even confused Agent Tiao, and reduced her to "umbrakinesis is weird," so what chance does he have?

It's a manual about the teleporation pad. It explains the science behind the machine though the theories are some that have just started being developed last he heard, implying these machines were ahead of their time. They were developed by Sharpe Enterprises!

"I intend to visit Sharpe Enterprises at my earliest convenience. However I was also thinking about using these theories at some point." she says, once she assumes he's read enough.

Aaron had been going to tell her, but he didn't want to without asking Savaak if it's okay! That'd be kind of putting her on the spot after all. Also, he doesn't want to talk too much about Savaak as if she isn't there, because that's rude. Still, another mark for the "literally everyone is more useful than Aaron" column. His expression falters a little, as he thinks on it.

"I'm not going to give up looking, though. Infinite multiverse out there, you know? There has to be a way, and I need to get a lot stronger, and fast, to do any good against these people. To protect people from them, you know?"

If he can't find a way to deal with this, he doesn't feel like he can really be worth anything out there, but he doesn't say that with Silas in earshot.

"Guess I thought I'd let you know I haven't forgotten."

Everybody was probably too busy celebrating to see it. Maybe. Hopefully. He got back up with a sheepish look and dusted himself off, just happy to be alive.

He felt fear first, relief from not-death second, hunger third. Boy, did that take a lot out of him!

Eliott doesn't hold her hand out for it. She was fine with him looking it over some more. She already had all the information in her brain and with Silas helping her it would just be a matter of asking for it.

The compliment makes her furrow her brows suspiciously.

"Is that sincere?"

She's not sure....two months ago he said she was useless.
