That's also when he remembers the gun in his hand, loaded with electroshock bullets. He takes aim and starts unloading right into Rian's chest! He's slowly backing towards the stairs as per Silas' instructions, but he's not going to just turn and leave without keeping the others covered. He wasn't entirely sure what he expected to happen, trying to punch the juggernaut in the chest like that, but what DID happen seemed right. His barriers may have been hard and with no give, but there's only so much force you can put behind one with a punch. Yep. Time to back up now. Fortunately Leif seemed to agree. Josh heard her calling for everybody to get to the roof and it looked like time to skedaddle. Josh put up a barrier between himself in Rian in case the guy tried to cheap-shot him, then booked it for the stairs up after Leif. Behind them all, he's dumping his power reserves into the thickest wall of darkness he can make and having it follow several paces behind them, to ward off or slow down any pursuit. It'll also mean that between that and the smoke that might or might not still be around, hopefully Rian can't actually aim that concrete he keeps tearing out of the floor!
