"Of course, figuring that out could be as risky." She turns to face him, raising a brow as she turns his words from before on him.
She's aware he's getting closer, but Silas has gotten to the point his face is inches from hers to push her boundaries. This is like having a small room to herself with him on the other side.
"Thanks for the warning." She pushes herself upright, abandoning the support of the rail with his statement. If he's willing to take the risk, he better be willing to accept the burn if it came, too.
Silas wait for the beginning sensation, but it doesn't come. He holds it a few more seconds and still nothing. He pulls away, confusion plain in his face as his brow furrows.
Sadly, Becca's not a skilled enough actress to fake the wide-eyed stare she gives him. She raises a hand to her lips, and drops it back to her side halfway through.
"Barely." The exasperation seeps into her voice as she shakes her head. "I managed to get it on the same page as me not too long ago." You know, during that time he'd been in the infirmary and other things. "It doesn't really listen."
She's also not really paying attention to the fact that she's referring to her sentient power as, well, sentient.
"Right. I'll be sure to remember that when I want to eat something like a normal person and not gag on it on the way down." She stares at her hands, but of course they're gloved in this weather, so they drop back to her sides as she shakes her head.
Maybe. And maybe she needs to have Eliott smack her upside the head with a shovel again and see if there's a dent to get some common sense forced in.
Looking up as he echoes her own thoughts, Rebecca shakes her head again. Of course Silas got free of the rot his first try. But did she really want him going for another?
The answer to his question has shifted so much in just a couple months. Yes, then no, then yes again, but now? Now it's the best time to walk away and be done with everything and forget this weird crush-bicker dynamic they have.
But he also seems to truly be trying. She hadn't forgotten about the way he responded to her being around in the infirmary, nor after, though that could have been shock. He'd told her himself that he'd never lost someone he personally knew or cared about. But what about now?
Would it hurt to find out if it's just that? Just a crush? Something they could walk away from.
"Yes." She doesn't back down, looking up at him as he steps closer.
He grabs the back of her head just behind her ear, pulling her slightly as he moves himself forward to meet her halfway, intending on a deeper kiss this time.
She takes a half step to meet him the rest of the way! The hand at the back of her head is met with a brief moment of tension, but it doesn't stop her from going through with it. Her hands rest against his sides a moment or two into the kiss.
He keeps kissing deeper, other hand going to the small of her back. He has no real intention to pull away yet, assuming he's not feeling the tingling sensation or worse!
She returns the kiss, leaning into his hold as the seconds pass. It takes a little longer than before, but the tingling sensation does kick in! Along with the smell of rotting flesh if he's not quick about pulling away.
